There are some songs that make me cry. A lot of Lana songs, actually. 

 

But I've never experienced a song that makes me cry every. single. time. I hear it — without fail. 

 

And then there's The Grants. Kintsugi. Fingertips. 

 

Tears, every single time. The power of her songwriting (and production) to illicit that response in me every single time is extraordinary. She is the songwriter of our generation.

Mind you, critics are not Grammy voters. Jon was crickets on lists and WON AOTY. Beyoncé was #1 everywhere and LOST.
