The race for Album of the Year (AOTY) and Song of the Year (SOTY) has begun, the first lists have been published:

Last year, A&W won, and Ocean Blvd came in an honorable third place, though the critics rating was rather mediocre. I give Tough some chances this year to land in the top 50 of the SOTY list.

I haven't been as locked in for new music this year, but I'd say my top 5s would be:

Albums - Alligator Bites Never Heal, Cowboy Carter, Bird's Eye, Quantum Baby and Eternal Sunshine

 

Songs: Denial Is a River, Eusexua, Alliigator Tears, Caught Up, Bigger in Texas & Girl so confusing

Sadly, this year it was very easy to narrow the album releases down to my top 10, even if we got a huge amount of albums we got in 2024.
