  1. This would be a great film for Hollywood The chorus playing while they drive in the pink corvette

Evil is so good. Turns out it might be #2. Her voice sounds so cute in it.
  3. Wait do you mean she said she doesn't support her or she just hadn't spoken about it when Shirley usually does speak about such things? Either way yeah it is telling
  4. It seems a number of UV outtakes talk about how she was tired of touring, not happy with how her fame has gone and how she was treated (LMLYLAW demo, Your Girl, Madly, Melancholia, etc) which always gets to me so much. There's a huge shift in tone between BTD/Paradise outtakes, and the UV ones. But I can kinda see how she also didn't want them on the final UV cut. Maybe fear of being criticised for her honesty yet again, people blaming her for the way she felt. Or maybe naturally she changed how she felt about it. I wonder what led her to putting more "sad about relationships" songs on UV instead. There's so much vulnerability in both, but I suppose she'd already faced backlash from expressing one of them. why not do it again, and even harder. Whatever it was, I am so sorry for how she felt around that time and what she had to go through. I still want to hear more of her side.
  5. I've never thought of this before but now I will!
  6. Wait do you mean before 2014 when the "video project" with FJM (that became Freak) was news? That would be such a dream for you. I didn't know who he was before that.
  7. Yes!!!!+ HBTB/Doin Time vibes need to be expanded like this. He could also get her into the psychedelic rock again like his older albums.
  8. That's why it's so crackhead of me to always bring it up how good theyd be together

Wait I'm asking with genuine curiosity, why do you like wheels on the bus so much? Mine are: Pacify Her Cake Milk and Cookies High School Sweethearts Strawberry Shortcake Brain & Heart Field Trip The Void The Contortionist Death (But I need more time. I'm sure some will hit me more personally)
  10. I actually can't even get through this but like, wow. I hope she does more of her songs
  11. Radiohead ft. Lana Del Rey They don't really do features but it would be such a good collaboration along the lines of Let The Light In, Living With Myself, Some Things Last A Long Time, Get Free

I literally fucking love this album. Every time I listen it gets better. And I have watched the Death music video a whole bunch of times now.
  13. There was a time when I really looked up to one particular thing she said in the BTD era. When asked "what would you say to the haters?" And she said: "I don't think I would say anything at all" I was actually kind of shook because I was a very reactive person back then, not in a way that I'd talk back at people but I'd always show a very angry/rude attitude around people who I thought didn't like me. And that must have changed after that. Overall I don't think she's been a role model, but she's definitely inspiring.

I really like the album, and I'm already enjoying it about twice as much as I was enjoying k-12. Tunnel Vision & The Contortionist sound most similar to her earlier work, and Nymphology also sounds familiar (maybe to Firedrill). After School still had her most experimental vocals, though The Contortionist and Nymphology at the end is like that too, which is so cool. None of the transitions are really that cool or necessary except Nymphology - Evil. I thought I was excited for her ethereal/otherworldy sound but I've taken a lot more to the rock-influenced tracks.
  15. I think Lana should still do something with Hollywood (song). It would be so good as a single, and also so sweet knowing it was written close to the beginning of her fame, and that now she's been living in Hollywood for like 10 years. All the lyrics would still smash.
  16. Listening to Always Ready To Lose You takes me straight back to 2014-2015, even tho I only heard it for the first time this year. It's such a shame it wasn't released back then, because it would have been a HIT. The sound it has is so early 2010s pop. It's almost sickening because it makes me think of songs that would have played at the "college" parties I went to when I was 17 and 18.
  17. I so badly need to update my UV timeline blog. Haven't touched it since before Boz spilled everything. But it's so interesting that Melancholia + He Hit Me coz he loves me lead to the Ultraviolence that we got. + more of the Lana and Barrie rule the world days. Idk why they didn't do more with their work together. Like an album wouldn't have been necessary, but if they had performed some of those songs in an acoustic live session or something. Imagine

My ex best friend showed it to me, saying that I would like it bc it's creepy. And she was right

I've been a fan since dollhouse in late 2014. And halsey since 2015. I loved seeing them rise and take over, especially melanie because she was so unique. Melanie literally went hand-in-hand with all the trends at the time. the short pastel goth trend on tumblr, the bigger interest in makeup starting in 2014, and the dark lyrics commentating society was actually hella grunge.

That's actually awesome! I suppose because Melanie isn't "a tik tok artist" I thought the additional fans from that platform would be minor, and assumed everyone hyping her there were already old fans. I'm wrong already (I also never liked Play date )
