I'm not sure if Lana is feeling this or not, no way to tell, but I agree, I've seen a lot of people have this mentality and it just really sucks and seems counterproductive. Someone can be just as strong and determined and focused wearing basic t-shirts and jeans and no makeup as they can wearing more fashion/glamour/accessories. I hope Lana isn't feeling that sort of pressure and is just allowing herself to change based on how she's feeling inside instead of what she thinks others want or expect of her now that she's dipping into more of the political/social consciousness landscape.

Lust for Life. I like the dancing piano or whatever in the chorus, but the rest just doesn't click with me. Don't hate it, but also rarely listen to it.

I love Lana. And I still like some of Azealia's music, but it's honestly refreshing that someone she's started a feud with actually responds. Usually they just ignore her.

VB snippet makes me feel like I am on a sad but reflective road trip. -
I don't know what to think about any of this, but it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of songs were about Barrie. She's called him her soulmate in at least one or two interviews, if I'm not mistaken. She definitely hasn't referred to other boyfriends like that (specifically Francesco). They also bonded and were together during one of the most intense periods of her career, which can definitely strengthen feelings for someone. And if a relationship ended because they just weren't able to be in the same headspace but wanted to make it work, it could leave a lot of unresolved and conflicted feelings, making for a lot of future songs reflecting on that. Of course, it's also possible that she's dated since G-Eazy and we just don't know about it, but I have kind of gotten the impression that she's been holding off of dating and building/maintaining friendships with various people while also taking the time to search through the inner clarity she's trying to reach (which g-eazy seemed to interrupt, if you read between the lines in her interviews for LFL).

If MAC is anything to go by, i think this new album will be her most experimental album yet. -

this footage makes me weirdly sad, like in a nostalgic way. 2012 was such a fun time to be a Lana fan. 2012-2015. -
i don't really agree with all the points she's made, but I do respect that she's at least engaging in the discussion and presenting her point of view and explanation for why she's playing there, as opposed to doing what a lot of other artists do and just phoning in some faux apology written by a publicist.

that's true, she's not and I respect that, but why does the song always just "need" her to sing a few words and/or have her vocals deep in the mix? I think the stargirl collab is a great example of how you can get your own verses and add to the song and compliment/contrast each other as artists without taking away or imposing on the main artist's song. idk, just personal preference, but I like when two artists use a collab opportunity to make something they wouldn't have been able to make just by themselves, and a lot of the features Lana has done this year feel like they (the main artists) are just throwing in a few of her vocals so they can get the ft. Lana Del Rey stamp for more sales/streams. but i mean it's a minor thing, and if Lana's happy just making music with people she likes, that's all that is important i guess. -
Of course this is how the planned collab would turn out.

Glad to see her looking happy and out of the house.
