american whore would not have been the better title and it’s not because of vulgarity in my opinion. the themes of the album expand past just  sex or being an “american whore.” i think the current tunnel encapsulates the ideas expressed in the album well and i also loved the theory of the album kind of being like a journey through a tunnel, making your way to the light at the end (with it being very dark in the middle)

That just reminded me we have a snippet of the California Demo since 2020
When is it gonna be her turn

The lukewarm reception that the Grants has received confuses me so much like   the moment I heard the lines do you think about heaven I KNEW this was going to be one of her best songs, and it is for me  I just can’t imagine not crying while hearing this live, my eyes literally well up with tears every time I listen to it..seeing people call it her worst single???

I dont understand Billie & Taylor hate on this forum, these 2 has been giving Lana her flowers more than anyone else, they are always respectful and contantly showing Lana love & props on their platforms. Plus, they are all talented women.

i’ve heard it and the second half isn’t bad but again the first half is just that super quiet singing that i find to be boring. if they collab hopefully billie actually sings loud and if the genre was pop rock that would be such a serve

They are deaf, probably. None of the leaked tracks is better than A&W, even if combined.

There's definitely some nostalgia factor with unreleased tracks that causes them to get praised disproportionately. I've seen someone claim that Earthquakes is better than A&W. If it was the other way around and Lana would have released Earthquakes and A&W was the unreleased one then this forum would have a meltdown about how Lana is always "stripping back" her instrumentals.

i’m sorry but i really don’t think this is the follow-up to nfr… in my opinion 1) they’re really different as this one is so much more inspired, experimental, it is miles ahead in terms of lyrical content and variety. i get that nfr is much more liked than chemtrails or blue banisters but 2) objectively this album is much more a continuation of blue banisters than of nfr. the reasons for this are the piano ballads which sound much more like blue banisters than nfr (vocally and production wise), the family themes, the introspection, the multiple references to her past, the somewhat political lines, the allusions to the critics, this is all reminiscent of blue banisters and not of nfr. honestly it doesn’t make sense to erase chemtrails and blue banisters just because they’re disliked when this record is in many ways a continuation of blue banisters and in no way a continuation of nfr, whether it be in terms of vocals, in terms of lyrics, in terms of production

She says the following words out loud in the song:

Father, Sister, Brother , Grandpa, Grandma

and only thing missing is mother.

    it’s truly a statement.

people saying ocean blvd feels like the true follow up to norman is just like back in 2017 when people were saying lust for life felt like the true follow up to born to die. but we all know that's not true and it isn't this time either. i feel like all lana's albums have something special and important about them even if some of us don't like some of them. i don't think ocean blvd could've existed in its current form without lana getting thru chemtrails and blue banisters first.

I feel like I’m the only one that thinks NFR has a different sound and vibe compared to Chemtrails/BB, I feel like she still had the “world building” thing going on in that album and the themes are much more like her older albums than Chemtrails or BB
Edit: ok actually I wanna say I think all her albums have a different vibe… even though some songs on Chemtrails are clearly NFR outtakes i weirdly could not see them on NFR at all… I just feel like her writing style didn’t change until Chemtrails
