Thinking about Cherry Blossom as the finale to the journey, a lullaby to herself

Little ghost, blonde hair with lemonade tea
There's much to learn, and so much to see

Looking back to Lizzy from where she is now, speaking lovingly to her younger self who is on the brink of the whole adventure
Speaking back in time to all of her younger selves. Telling them all not to be discouraged by the cruel world she knows they will face

What we've got (her artistic gift) we've got to share

She is the little girl in the swing - Angelina, the little angel, and also the mother pushing her, guiding herself from the future

Then SC as an epilogue, to the mothers and children of tomorrow

Okay i know it's really mean & too early to think about LDR9 right now after we just got Blue Banisters. But sorry, i can't help the thirst  Here's a "LDR9" album rollout in my tiny head:
LDR9 title will be: LIZ, I'M CALLING FROM CALIFORNIA
Genres: Psychedelic, indietronica, Alt Rock, chamber pop artpop, dreampop, ofc (a sweet "piano flop" to spite y'all ballad haterz)
Style: An ethereal Witch Rock Album (I'm thinking of Which Witch - Florence + The Machine kind of vibes) mixed with experimental electronic-elements, serving for random drunk screaming/ camp style.
    Produced by: herself, Mike Dean
Track 5 - Lemonade has some excerpts/sample contents from old demo "Dance for Money". This will be her 2022 stripper anthem (it will make the preceeders like Brite Lites, Cherry etc. proud). It marks the first time in 5 years since she made her last stripper song. (L4L era).
Track 13: "To Clementine" is a continuation of "Fine China" - The song is a love letter to her future daughter Clementine - "baby, your daddy might be an asshole but im never gonna leave u. I will always protect you in my arms" - The song sets in "Fine China" universe's storyline.
This album is a sister to Lust for Life, but this time, it's not a celebration for her fans, rather than the celebration for herself. The album is a nod to young/innocent Lizzy Grant (yes, she will spill more tea about her past in this album) & how that make her the person she is today, more self-reflecting songs (just like WW in Blue Banisters), more fuck-you media songs (especially annoying-ass twitter stan culture), and how she been through shit to be able to love and appreciate/believe in herself & her art (as she should, she is Lana Fucking Del Rey) & more contemplating songs like in Lust for Life where she shares her thoughts about life, politics, society prejudice towards a woman/a woman in the industry, and although the album isn't an ode to her fans like Lust for Life was, it still has 2 songs as 2 love letters dedicated to her fans - Roses Bloom For You (altered lyrics) & At Peace, At Last.

    Photographed by me.

Imagine The Trio as the opener of her tour, and the beat drop at the same time as she's walking to the stage.

    Too soon. Way too soon.

that said, here are some absolutely never going to happen concepts I think fascinating to dream about for ldr9

Nevada Alaska Hawaii- May Jailer and Lizzy Grant have taken over Lanas body and sound in this glitzy americana kitschy follow up to AKA and Sirens. Slightly off key guitar, haunting operatic crooning and belting.Sunlit noir and joyous winter. Binaural beats and psychedelic bass. Clove cigarettes, the turning of the year. Northern lights, coral reefs, and desert smoke. Lana as Jack Kerouac On The Road. Nikki Lane as her Dean. Country in spirit but not really and sound. Transcendent global and slightly lofi. Sounds like a transmission through radio from a parallel universe. Slightly distant but ethereal and moving.

I want her to explore more of what she did in black bathing suit tbh

I really like her use of different tempo changes and experimental vocals

more of that on her next album pls. Would die to hear a full fledged psychedelic rock album with folk influenced lyrics and undertones.

Right, but she said she is scared of people looking into her family records. It seems to be on her mind as she has mentioned it a few times in this Live + the "it's my karmic lineage" line in Black Bathing Suit.

I’m not sure specifically who looks into Lana’s birth chart, or if anybody does, but there is a lot to say about it. Lana is a Scorpio Rising, we all know she is a Cancer with a Leo Moon. It’s often believed that we’re put through this life to get to who we truly are, our sun sign. As children and young adults we often represent our moon sign, because we act more on emotion. Lana is a Leo moon. Leo placements have GRAND energy and WILL be noticed. They have the ability to be seen and to be thrown into a world of the public eye. Think of Lana as a younger star, attracting a plethora of people. Gaining witness. Let’s move onto Scorpio Risings… I found this on them.
“You spend so much time in the lower vibration investigating darkness and taboos because your mission is to turn darkness into light. It’s teaching others how to turn their shadow into light by sharing your own personal journey of healing and transformation. You haven’t had an easy life.
One of the biggest challenges is to not get caught in confrontations, but instead to transmute the energy of volatile situations. With Scorpio the individuality we fought so hard for dissolves into the light of the soul and oneness.
One of the greatest things about Scorpio is your willingness to dive as deep as possible to uncover the root of an issue. So, let me help you here. The root of fear is your inability to tell reality from illusion. Fear is false evidence appearing real. Your ego is an illusion, your soul is the reality. The shadow is the illusion, the light is the reality.”
Lana continues to transform and she mentions this about her “karmic lineage” on the album and has posted it before. I find it so beautiful.

For anyone who missed the livestream, she said the book is still on the way but it’s complicated. She said she felt the whole thing could be condensed into about 36ish pages of really dense poems that are “unflattering” but would hold everything we need to know/she wants to say.

NOW I’M EVEN MORE EXCITED BAHHHH

Kinda disagree on that one, though I love Arcadia. The main theme of this album, to me, is healing and in no way is it better expressed than on BB. Plus there is the word blue on it, that transcends the whole album. To me, BB was the perfect album title choice.
edit: ok, just reread the whole thing and we’re saying the same thing

I think she means that with the money she made from people constantly talking about her aka free publicity -from her weight to her political views- she bought some expensive ass shoes, so she's thanking the haters: your interest really made stacks  so thanks for that!

There is something specifically tragic about this album’s story. On one hand, she’s developed an independence and strength supported by her family and friends - Chuck not least of all, who appears on the title song to save Lana from heartache as well as in this album’s conclusion. But we also hear of Lana’s long-standing desire to have children “give me children, take away my pain”.

Upon having not only the strength to leave one doomed relationship after the other, she has also each time forfeited another hope she had of having children, but has still done so for the sake of her happiness, which she then finds in her family and friends. Just as she approaches this point however, Chuck, her sister and closest to her and instrumental in her healing discovers she is pregnant. Lana sings to her future daughter in Cherry Blossom, which is strangely mournful for a lullaby. Even still, she dedicates and sings a song right after in which she chooses to be happy for her sister, who is having understandable concerns despite been blessed with motherhood, and dedicates a song to her.

this all contextualised with her relationship with her own mother as explicitly explored across the album?

    Damn Lana.

    I agree with you!!
My interpretation of the album is that it starts with her breakup with Sean (TB, BB) which leads her to do a deep introspection. She starts with an introspection on her image, how others see her (Arcadia, BBS, Beautiful). On IYLDWM, she’s not over the breakup yet, but then the introspection continues as she realises that Sean wanted to change her for someone she is not (Beautiful, VFR). That leads her to the angry stage of her breakup on Dealer. She then regains her calm but still holds a grudge against Sean for not being a good enough man for her, for not caring as much as she wanted him to. She’d rather cut him off (Thunder). On WFWF, she meets a new man and warns him of her past, and the issues she’s had. The introspection continues as she tells her new man (possibly Clayton at the time?) that she’ll do her best to not turn into a wildfire despite her past. She then goes deeper into her past by remembering an old lover on NOTG and realises how hard life still is for her, but she starts thinking about an old friend of hers on LL and how life could be with a kid on CB, and realises that no matter how hard things are, she’ll always be full of love for the people she holds very close to her heart. She knows she’s not alone and has so much love to give. She’s now over the breakup, and makes an attempt at leaving behind the pain of her past to focus on the present. Her sister is having a baby, and Lana knows that that’s what matters the most. The album closes with SC, a love letter for Chuck to remind her she’s always here for her.
