Cactus and Talking Like an Answering Machine are both extremely suspect registrations. Cactus is only on APRA, which has very weird practices regarding cover versions, live-only songs and samples, where lots of artists end up getting listed on songs they have next to nothing to do with. TLAAM is registered as being composed solely by “Lana Del Rey”, whereas everything else on the site it was found on had co-composers and listed the name “Elizabeth Woolridge Grant”.

Personally, I don’t believe either is a real recorded track.

This interview makes me feel kind of uncomfortable. I am not saying she was abused as a child or anything and I don't have an opinion about this topic only by reading this one interview, but it's just giving me a strange feeling and makes me think about her love for Nabokov, the fascination with the Lolita story and the teeange alcohol addiction

Seems like an unpopular opinion here but... NFR is by far my favorite Lana album. To me it feels grown up and so cohesive, kind of like a story from first to last song

"Straight off the release of her new album, the GRAMMY Museum will welcome GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey for an intimate conversation and performance. Joining her during the conversation moderated by Scott Goldman will be Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote and produced the album. "

So she did an interview with a Seattle radio station (I'm still waiting for the thread to be approved, so I'll link it here in the meantime)

i think her touring was much better when she didn't have that "fuck it" attitude she has now, like she's too cool for her own music... she's trying to look natural and carefree but comes across really self conscious
she took herself less seriously and took her music more seriously before. her new .... persona.... is a lot less likable ( not that she isn't always the best woman on earth:)

Yeah, I mean, if I read that exchange blind and didn't know who it was about, I would infer that that person was trying to say without explicitly saying it that they had been abused as a child, and probably by a family member or in some way that implicates a family member. And even knowing who said it I'm not sure that isn't the correct inference to make.

Well luckily you weren’t the one expected to perform the songs. If an artist can’t hear what they’re singing or even focus on it because the audience is too rowdy, how are they expected to continue? She’s a human being, not a robot. She has limitations. She also has feelings. Just because you paid money doesn’t mean you can act however you want. Singing along is fine but her fans don’t even give her a chance to start the song on her own. Plus it’s rude to sing along to an a cappella song. She doesn’t have anything keeping her in place and just hears hundreds of people shouting the lyrics at different times. You guys can sing it yourself anyway, you don’t need her to sing it. And what difference does it make if you can’t hear her? That’s why the Beatles stopped performing altogether. Their fans were loud and disrespectful and half the time they were all playing different songs because they couldn’t hear each other. And the fans never noticed because they couldn’t hear the band. They felt like people came just to scream and they didn’t see the point of even performing anymore if that was what they had to deal with.

Assuming that 'fan behavior' means constant positivity for the artist you're a fan of is unrealistic. We're not going to all appreciate what Lana does artistically or personally, especially when her choices -- such as dating Larkin -- are building up institutions that clash directly with a lot of people represented in this fanbase. It's not wrong to express feelings on that.

Of course she's nice to fans usually etc no one is saying otherwise, but I just find it kind of rude to be singing The Greatest because the fans requested it and when the chorus starts you just stop and be like "well fuck it"
