I don't have a problem with Fantano, he's become much kinder in his reviews than from years ago. I don't understand why you all have to insinuate, or straight out accuse him of being misogynistic. I don't personally AGREE with his review, but he always provides thorough enough details, critiques, and reasons why he doesn't like an album.
TTBD is her most LDR sounding record too, it's not that deep

I love the title track, but The Black Dog should have been on the standard & the title track to the album. Need more of this in the future.

exactly, it's incredibly see-through. i personally couldn't care less what the critics say, but to watch them coward behind whatever train of thought is most popular at the moment is pathetic. form your own opinions and SAY THEM WITH YOUR CHEST! (and if you're going to be as disrespectful as to bring Sylvia Plath into your silliness, put your name on it.)

As a imaginary PR person, I selfishly want Lana to push Lasso back to next year; I fear Taylor's impending downfall will affect how people receive Lana's next work. Especially since Cowboy Carter came out this year, and I know everyone will be comparing Lasso to it, which will result in another QFTC disaster (and yes, I know Taylor's career has nothing to do with Lana's, but the past few months they've been associated as "mediocre white girl singers" on social media )

I think people being tired of Taylor is definitely a part of it, but there are plenty of valid reasons to dislike the music as well. I do like a lot of the album but overall find it underwhelming. 6-7 is not unreasonable at all. 1/10 on the other hand is obviously silly.

I agree
You go into a grocery store, and they're playing Taylor. not one song, but a whole album. You stop at the bakery... Taylor themed cookies and cakes!
you go into a bookstore, they have a whole section of Taylor or Taylor-themed books. Same things at libraries
Coffee shops? Of course they have Taylor-themed drink menu!
You're in class/you're helping your child with homework.... the teacher worked Taylor into the exercises
you're scrolling your instagram... everything from your local park to laundry detergent makes Taylor-references
you're watching football... Taylor's there... they keep showing her over and over and over
Like.... it really is ridiculous. Imagine if you didn't like Taylor's music (which is fine) but you were constantly being bombarded with her like this. But the thing is, Taylor isn't the one doing any of this. it's her fans/businesses

i think it's good this album is not getting universal acclaim like midnights, although i love it i recognize it has many flaws and taylor always makes a better record when she is receives criticism (rep/lover not winning grammies > folklore/evermore, red not being cohesive > 1989)
