What a shame. It sounds like such an interesting concept. Was especially taken with Lana's comment to Franco, "Write around me, and if you don't fully get me, that's even better."

If Lana's poems are as fun as Leonard's, I'll be very happy.

Has everyone bought my recently released book of poems about Lana? It's called "I Fall to Pieces" and the author is Glenn Cooper. Available from lulu.com
I sent Lana a copy. I do hope she gets it.

This!!!! I'm here for her shedding the persona. It's gradually happening. She is def in a diff place than when she first started. You really just summarized it so nicely.

I'm male (and straight) but Sad Girl is one of my top 10 Lana songs. The soaring vocal on that bridge just kills me. I play it over and over. Being a David Lynch fan I also love that refrain "He's got the fire / and he walks with it."
How does the song make me feel? Very difficult to say. Like a lot of Lana's songs, it has a kind of intangible quality. It has that "dreamy" essence characteristic of so many of her songs. "Like watching clouds pass in front of the moon," to quote Greil Marcus.
Salvatore.

i'd love some rings, a choker, one of those vintage head wraps (her 2015 video by the pool when she 'transformed', bandanas
if we were still in BtD i'd say an LDR flag but patriotism is a concept Trump destroyed

"I'm not violent, baby." ("I'm on fire, baby.")
It made sense to me because the previous lines, "Watch what you say to me / careful who you're talkin' to," sound like a threat.
"I'm not violent, baby! But watch your mouth or I might make an exception!"

Am I the only one who still loves LFL?
I was listening to it last night and it still sounds new and fresh to me. Yeah, there are some tracks which are probably my least favourite Lana songs (IMF, BPBP) but there are so many magical moments in this record:
Love - already a classic. The opening notes, the high note at the end of the chorus, the bridge, and the instrumental of the outro.
Cherry - the first time we heard it in the snippet was an EXPERIENCE! Still one of my all-time favourites, it's almost like there is a little bit of each album in this track.
13 Beaches - completely unique, I haven't heard anything like it before or since. I love how the beats in the chorus alternate between strong and soft, and of course the "that I've been dyyyyyyYYYyyyIIIIIIIIIIIIIING for soOOOOoomething rEEaal" part.
White Mustang - who knew some whistling could be so emotional??
Coachella - even the haters, you've gotta admit the bridge is heavenly??
GBA - The pre-chorus takes me to a different universe.
WTWWAW - The verses and pre-chorus are some of her best in her discography, in my opinion.
TNC - the most underrated song in her discography.
Heroin - the note after 'shores' (I'm not sure what instrument it is, but I hope which part I mean is clear!), the guitar riff after 'the heavy metal that you hear', IT'S FUCKIN' HOT and the whole entire lyrical and emotional content after that. And the contrast between the calmness of the first part of the song, and the rage and fragility of the second part of the song.
Get Free - the throwback to Ride, the birds and waves crashing at the end.

I still can’t get over Cherry. Who allowed her to release such a life changing song??

Downtown Baby Doll liked a post in a topic by terencelovesyou in What if Lana was real?
It's all real. What we are really speaking of are issues of persona. Identity. It's like Bob Dylan in 1964, the famous concert, where he said to the audience, "Happy Halloween and I've got my Bob Dylan mask on, haha."
I don't have any doubt that everything Lana has written or sung about, has had its germination in some "real" event. Now, what's a "real event"? Could be something she has personally experienced, or it could be something she read about or overheard or dreamed. They are all real events, whether she experienced them or not. If you imagine doing something, the same parts of the brain are activated that would be activated if you were actually doing it. There's no difference. So, in a sense, all events are real. I think it was Picasso who said, "If it can be imagined, it's real."

I really want another album like this.
24 is iconic. Freak is a bop. Terrence Loves You and Honeymoon are heartbreaking. Salvatore is THAT SONG. The Blackest Day is relatable. Swan Song is cathartic. It's just full of masterpieces.

So, I've never been super great with photoshop but I enjoy making manips and coverarts, I also do traditional art and I decided to share some of my work.
A lot of my photoshop works are really messily edited but I try
UV cover in BTD's style (this one is a WIP I gotta fix a lot):
Here's a manip I worked on the other day:
