the fact that y'all have to call everyone "edgy teenager" when someone doesn't agree with your opinions. i really have to laugh. marina is an amazing artist who served 3 great albums, with cool imagery, lyrics and production but now she just LOST it. i don't know if it's because she's aiming at radio success or because she's gRoWn or what else but i don't see anything new or interesting in these new songs. these are literally songs that ANYONE could sing. that's why i'm a little bit disappointed, there's nothing unique about them. i don't mind the pop sound, i don't mind the tropical vibes, but she could do really betterthanthat.mp3. the only thing i'm glad for is that marina seems to be really happy and feeling herself this era and that makes me happy, but the music till now... is.... a choice.

Orange Trees isn't that bad, production wise is ok but the lyrics are boring and bad.

the song is not great but its definitely great to hear a marina song so care free and breezy like this ... she hasn't released a song like that yet so just for that reason i can appreciate it a lot and its a cute song too

like im not saying its a bad song, its cute and i could bop to it, but marina is another person. like this is not just a genre switch, this is a persona switch. like a downgrade. she went from talking about going to the countryside to kill a fetus to sitting by the orange trees... okurr girl

OrOrOrOoorange is not bad I like the chorus. But yes the lyrics are watery. I prefer Marina when she’s singing about suicide and bombings tbh lol Because those lyrics are fearless and powerful. I have a feeling Fear is gonna be much more heavier lyrically. I might have been premature to call her over. She is looking stunning in every photo and video though

some of y'all are about to be real mad at me but it must be said; why has her music become so basic and safe?..like I'm really disappointed after all that time waiting I thought she was gonna come back with something so special and unique like she went travelling to japan and did all that marina book stuff but the lyrics, the production even the vocals are all so safe and grounded, this isn't the eccentric raw marina that I love. It just seems to me that her label and herself wanna try to be more public friendly and mainstream especially with dropping "and the diamonds", working with people like luis fonsi and putting out bland pop like this. I'll still give the album a fair chance but this isn't for me so far.

I’m so excited for the Fear part of the album. I really like Orange Trees, her 2nd best song from this era tbh (so far), but I really want me some bangers

Surprise releases are better when you dont even know about the album though, if they were doing that they probably would never have confirmed an album and just left us wondering if something was going to happen - that would have been great.

I think its overkill to do 4 BTD songs. Summertime Sadness and Video Games are well known, National Anthem and Off to the races less so. 
 
Maybe if she did one or two BTD songs and then she'd be able to do some more new stuff - Happiness Is a Butterfly and perhaps something off LFL? 
 
I do get what you mean though - if this is a festival then there would possibly be a lot of casual Lana fans or non lana fans that only know BTD stuff.

A heap of the BTD stuff needs to come off the setlist already.... Though I guess for those who don't know deeper cuts it's important.
