I kinda feel the same and it makes it even more annoying. She has been going to that Gala for years knowing that no matter what she's leaving with one or various awards, yet still the overacted reactions. I get its not her fault -and not totally sure that I'd feel better if she reacted on an apathic way-, but the whole thing is just obscene.

The only reason I want Lana to win a Grammy is for herself. Acknowledgement from the music industry is important to her. I don't need acknowledgement from the Gammys or anyone else to validate my love and appreciation for her.

On another note Taylor Swift's OMG moments when winning something is a bit much. I bet when she gets a spam email from Walmart saying, "Congratulations you've just won a gift card ", she puts her hands to her mouth, "Me? I can't believe it. I'm not deserving ".

Yep, that category was BY FAR the worst snub. With the other categories it’s like…ok this person is more popular, this person is a grammy darling, etc. But a random Paramore song taking best alt music performance over A&W? Really? That was straight up disrespectful.

I remember too, it was like 2:30 pm for me when those categories were being announced: I was SO excited because I was so sure she was winning. This sounds dumb but I had been looking forward to this day since it was announced that she had been nominated for alt categories; I’m pretty sure most of us were like ‘of course she’s gonna win, this is a no-brainer.’ Not only does it devour the other nominees in terms of creativity, genre-bending, and lyricism, A&W was also critically acclaimed. Same applies to Ocean Blvd. Lana isn’t a random indie artist, her sales and streams are great. So all around it looked good and realistic.

When she got snubbed for all her pre-show categories…yeah it was over then. If I was a celebrity I would’ve pulled a Kanye moment, got up on stage and said “Yo Billie, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish but Lana had one of the best songs of all time! One of the best songs of all time!” *mic drop*

Nah they can rot. 12 years of INCREDIBLE albums and yet they think she needs to demonstrate anything. They can truly rot.

And let's not forget a key line from OB: "I know, I know that you hate me."

Lana is Cinderella and will win in the end.

She's already winning artistically--do we hear artists and legends like Joan Baez and Bruce Springsteen, like Stevie Nicks, the Weeknd, and Courtney Love praising Taylor, Billie, et al? These artists didn't praise Lana when it was convenient and advantageous to do so, in front of a massive industry audience, but from their homes, from the studio, from the road.

I'm very happy Taylor praised Lana but calling her a "legacy artist" or whatever she said exactly makes Lana sound like she's been performing as Lana Del Rey for 30 years instead of 12. Lana isn't even 40 yet. She's not Dolly Parton or Joni Mitchell. She and Taylor are only 4 years apart in age.

So they gave her 5 nominations and sat her next to two winners just not to give her any award, letting her go empty handed. She should never give this disgusting industry anything else.

Lana, wherever you are, you are already the most significant pop artist from this century and everyone knows that. The fact that someone as TS has won 4 times that award with her mid stuff just gives the measure of what this is all about. You're just so above all of it.

This is just so unfair, disrespectful and disappointing towards Lana and I am so sad for her. But imo it was great that she got a shout out from Taylor and Jack and kinda from Billie too (she said that every song on that list was crazy good). And I am not the biggest Taylor fan but it was cute that she wanted Lana to be on the stage and gave her a little moment. Sure it was awkward a bit but imagine Taylor and Jack left her alone at the table, I am sure she would have gotten some hate for that too. And I mean Lana is a featured artist on Midnights as well and I am sure Taylor had good intentions.
I still can't find a logical reason why Paramore and Boygenius won over Lana in the alt categories and I don't think Midnights deserved AOTY and A&W definitely deserved SOTY. But in the end it's not the artists to blame for but the voters in the grammy comitee. They clearly don't like her for whatever reason and the voters comment mentioning SNL sadly said it all. I just hope Lana, knows how beloved she is, that is she doing insane streaming numbers, that she paved the way and that we all proud of her and her art and that she is truly ahead of time. I hope she stops caring about the Grammys bc they clearly do not deserve her at all but yeah she deserved to get a Grammy more than anyone else it is long overdue. Literally talked to some friends this morning about this which are more like casual listeners and they were shocked and in disbelief when I told them that Lana never won a Grammy. But luckily there is so much important things out there than having a Grammy but for sure it would have been a nice credit.
With that being said stream the true album of the year and of our hearts: Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd

I'm really disappointed because, just like most of you guys, I was so confident she was taking home at least one award. I know it's a competition and I don't want Lana to be a victim but this is all so unfair. Everyone was getting their awards, and nothing for Lana? Who was second best selling woman in the world, even more than the people she lost against? Who had one of the most monumental, critically applauded albums of the 2020s? Who didn't stop making the news for her magnetic performances at some of the most important festivals in the world? Who had the most talked-about album of the entire year?

Midnights was the Best Pop Vocal Album, why give it the AOTY too? What Was I Made For won Best Song Written for Visual Media, the category it totally deserved as it was, well, the best song written for visual media of the bunch? How does that song reflect 2023 as Song of the Year, and not A&W with its actually thought-provoking lyrics?

Boygenius for Best Alternative Music Album; I know The Record was acclaimed too, but in what world Ocean Blvd wasn't the alternative album of the year? The one that's actaully left-field, deeply conceptual, with multiple sounds, instruments, dynamics and lyrics that actually represent the alternative side of music; topics that aren't talked about, that are feared by most, and not as explored as they should. Why give This Is Why Best Alternative Song, when its parent album won Best Rock Album? Couldn't they, really, give anything to Lana?

If this is a popularity contest, yes they all deserved... Miley, SZA and everyone else; but 2023 was undoubtedly Lana's popularity peak, and it only seems to rise. How, seriously how wasn't she awarded for that? What does she have to do to have this level of mainstream recognition? She doesn't need it, of course, as she's a critic darling, a festival darling, a GP darling... everyone loves her. She hasn't reached the tip of the "music industry" iceberg, but does she really need to? Prime TV, the Grammys, the Oscars... maybe her fate really is to be a trailblazer, watch all of her disciples come and go, grab the gold and the applause, but she will remain strong and influential, discussed and forever relevant.

I love you Lana, and I love you Ocean Blvd; others are thankful for seeing their favorite artists reach #1 and undeservedly break Grammy records; I personally am thankful for experiencing the music, for being part of this global movement that is Lana Del Rey, driven by her pure talent and timeless songwriting.

By the way, she looked breathtaking.

all i know is that she will always come back stronger than the last time. UV, NFR, OB are prime examples. let's manifest that with LASSO era

Skfnsk a tiktok edit just popped up on my FYP of clips of Lana with Taylor during her win set to the “always an angel, never a god” part of boygenius’ Not Strong Enough and it destroyed me a little skkk because it’s so true! The whole night, she was the angel. Looking beautiful, giving hugs to Taylor for her wins, standing amongst a seated crowd to clap for Billie during her win, even joining Taylor up on stage as she lost against her while smiling solemnly in the shadows. But she wasn’t the god. She didn’t get that dedicated, shining moment of praise from the industry that she deserved. Yet, she still showed support for everyone else and still kept a smile on her face. & it’s been that way her whole career. She paved the way for so many artists who have now reached major success, always showing her love and support for them, while she rarely ever gets the credit for it herself. Always an angel, never a god.. (also the fact the edit was set to that boygenius song made it hurt even more since they won one of her noms skkk)
I am also one of the people in the bunch who are still running on 3 hours of sleep, so it’s time for me to turn in before I get more delusional loool. Tomorrow’s a new day xx

Btw, won't judge on TS intentions while dragging Lana to stage, but if I were Lana the last thing I would have wanted during that moment (having had 5 nominations and got AGAIN not a single award while seeing how they go to people like TS) is to be exposed directly to all of that people having to smile from the damn stage. Don't think that making her feeling forced to went there was a good move.

Worst thing is that she's better than all of them put together.
Say Yes To Heaven alone is better than anything TS ever did , i won't even mention Bleachers ... to think she actually did collabs with them ...

You are fucking 100% spot on.

Lana doesn't "play the game". That's why a lot of us thought it was odd that she actively campaigned for Ocean Blvd (at the urging of others it seems?), inspired by the goodwill she'd been receiving, just to ultimately be slapped in the face by the powers that be.

Her punishment, right? Well, no, because she benefits both ways. She doesn't have to ever do SHIT for the Grammys again, and she'll still be incredibly successful, innovative, subversive, and self-maintained... all of that without being some cookie cutter industry shrill trying to impress the industry bigwigs. Isn't she the #2 most streamed female artist on Spotify currently? She's quite literally the 2nd most prolific and successful female artist out there right now. And she did it without being watered down, or playing it safe.

If she wants to say "fuck it" and go even more gloves off now, well... We ride at dawn! She's a genius. And she'll be fine without a stupid trophy given to her by Boomers who never understood her (or tried to) anyway. Fuck 'em. She's a true rebel, and rebels are rarely rewarded easily by those who have played it safe their entire lives.

The fact that none of no other than BTD, Paradise, UV, HM, LFL, NFR, COTCC or BB have won any already is why I just cant take those awards seriously. If she wins that will be great, but she truly doesnt need them.
