This is beautiful. I've been playing the song on repeat today and it gave me right away the feeling that Lana sounded like a ghost on this version while I didn't notice it in the demo. Her vocals are the same but I think Barrie rerecorded his parts witch makes such a contrast. It makes so much sense to keep it that way.
The video is also moving and really confirms this feeling. The song has a whole new meaning now and Lana is clearly haunting him. 
 
To add to the feet discussion, I'de like to mention that Lana's feet are on this video even if she didn't play in it.  It mirrors her bare feets on the Blue Banisters video. There's really something reflecting between their arts. In Lana's live stream she said that the link with someone you loved once is never really gone. It feels deeply true for Barrie and her.

I love her voice in this... So haunting, it reminds me of Old money, sometimes i wish she'll do it again

Also : the fact that anything from 2013-2014 and 2016-2017 gives me so much dopamine and interest in contrast with her new albums... Don't get me wrong I love chemtrails and blue banisters is brilliant but nothing with beat the soundscapes , her voice and the production from her uv era and her early lfl work . Sorry for expressing myself so bodly regarding her old work but it's really special for me .

I agree about the Picasso reference but let's not pretend that these lyrics are any worse than countless others in the other songs. 
The singles have some of the worst lyrics on that album and at least Beautiful has an actual, proper piano whereas it sounds like Mike Dean (who imo is overrated af) borrowed Jack's Fisher-Price keyboard for Wallflower
Not to mention she serves actual vocals in Beautiful instead of the shrill, borderline-whiny declarations found in Text Book
Beautiful is a good song and having to put aside some cringeworthy lyrics to like a song of hers is nothing new

 

To me, the melody, repetition, and production of the chorus is the most cringey thing about the song and I refuse to listen to it now. It feels like a parody of a song, like an overly cheesy ballad that people use as a punchline of a joke.

Heroin, Change, 13 Beaches and Lust for Life (Demo) should've just been put in Honeymoon and LFL should've never happened.

The interlude feels kinda random and out of place on bb

I think Blue Banisters is easily better than both COCC and NFR both musically and lyrically even tho the lyrics are still too wordy for my liking and I find some of them embarrassing and cringy.

she obviously re-recorded the song, she obviously sang it in one take in the studio and she obv sounds fantastic, so why not just sing it live and leave little rawness to it. It just looked bizarre to be listening to such a polished vocal performance from someone performing “live”. Other artists also pre-record but they at least sang it live at the time of recording. I just don’t get it. It makes such a performance completely pointless. I could just play the song on itunes and there will be no difference (minus a couple changes here and there). And it’s not like we got some exciting visuals to go with the lipsync.

I don't know if this is unpopular but BB is miles better than NFR! & NFR! doesn't belong in her top 4 albums.  I don't hate NFR! but I don't see it as the magnum opus some people say it is
 

I feel exactly the same. I sometimes question my feelings but I'm sure that it's based 0% on nostalgia because I recently (a couple of years ago) started listening her entire albums while before I was finding her songs on YT shuffle and feeling songs individually, not the albums as a whole. You're not alone, almost every fan I know in real life feels the same. The only songs that have her old energy are WW (if it had a better production), Dealer, Thunder, Text book and Living Legend but they still fail to reach the level of 2010-2017 in every aspect. 
 
Someone already gave their theory if she has gotten lazy and we don't really know because we don't know her personally. Their theory is that she is surrounded by the same people and dreams of a simpler life, which is pretty normal for a woman in her mid 30s. I think that the music video for Blue Banisters is wholesome and cozy but I wish she had a less lazy vibe to her music. Honeymoon and Terrance Loves You are divine ballads with a simple melody but they have much more substance and emotion. 

I think that people feel like praising her more because everyone thinks an artist's work is supposed is to be better as the artist matures. In many cases that's not true, they may be a more mature person but ot doesn't mean they're more creative. It's always the "authentic" argument if you don't like her new era. Of course, there are people who genuinely enjoy her new eras.
 
There's nothing wrong with her diary entry lyrics either. It brings some cozy sunny feeling when listening her newer music. I think the real problem is that there's a very small difference between 2019 and 2021. Those are only two years but it's three albums. 
 
Also her still mentioning LA and LA themed stuff is soo getting old. It's kinda paradoxical when her era is supposed to be country themed but she constantly mentiones a gigantic metropolis.
