Yesterday, Lana Del Rey stopped at Blankenship Hair Salon in Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Oklahoma to have her hair done.

Broken Arrow is the city within Tulsa County where Lana's (ex?)boyfriend Sean Larkin resides, and his daughter Alyssa Larkin is known to frequent this salon and is friends with many of the stylists. Due to recent events, it is speculated that Lana and Sean are possibly back together.

Not necessarily. You can get things done quickly but any great mastering engineer knows not to rush.
As it happens (I come from a music biz family) and I happen to be Facebook friends with a lot of engineers and mixers. I happen to be FB friends with Adam Ayan (who mastered Honeymoon and Lust for Life). A few months back he posted that Billboard article that ranks Lana’s songs and he mentioned in the caption how happy he was to have mastered Honeymoon and Lust for Life. I don’t know if this is a sign that he is mastering the next album.

NFR was mastered by Chris Gehringer and mixed by Laura Sisk. Since Jack is producing Lana’s next album too, I wonder if those two are getting to do the mix and mastering again.

At this point I’m assuming it’s either Adam Ayan or Chris Gehringer mastering COTCC. I can tell you that both are extremely professional and take great pride in their work and that we will all be happy with how the record is mastered.

That's the thing I wonder if she stopped vaping too.

When she cancelled those European dates back in February because she had lost her voice, I just wonder if maybe that could have had something to do with it. But I hope she stopped vaping too, because that isn't good for you either. As I said before, I don't recommend smoking or vaping for anyone who sings.
Perhaps. You just wonder what happened the led to it being cancelled at the last minute. Granted singing in a studio is not the same as singing on stage.

It's REALLY hard to quit. Its like the hardest bad habit to give up!

I feel like her smoking habits are a lot like mine.... she seems like the type of person that could smoke for a long time, quit, then maybe a few months into quitting have one or two cigs on special occasions as a treat lmao, quit again, then start again, then quit again, then start again..... hahaha

I think for now she's quit tho!

Oh actually! A quote in her Rolling Stone magazine interview from the UV era kinda confirms my speculations:

“I quit sometimes,” she says, of the cigarettes. “And then stop quitting.” She smokes onstage, too — it’s pure craving, not an image thing. “I find, sometimes, halfway through the set, I definitely need to have a cigarette.”

ofc that could've changed since then, but yea. pretty sure she just vapes rn!

Lana is really perfect for his show when you think about it.
She could perform on his show. He would do a great interview with Lana too. He is one of the few people left who knows how to conduct an interview.

I'd die if she did a Howard interview. He goes long and has a way of getting celebrities to admit things they'd never otherwise

The business doesn’t work that way and no one would make that leap. Folk music is in style right now and people want that. NFR was very much folk-rock and that came out a year ago. This folk revival started with Lana last year actually.
I’m hoping she goes on Howard Stern to promote it. He does great interviews and would be thrilled to have her on.

    I must give credit where it is due;

    1. This is Taylor’s best album to date
    2. This is one of the ten best albums of 2020
    3. Simplicity works for Taylor and it helps showcase her authenticity

Congrats to Taylor on a job well done!

..TNC is such a masterpiece. I never got the hate for it.

Anyway moving on from tasteless discussions.

Will COCC feature Joan AND ZELLA??

As a songwriter, Lana is a folk musician at heart. Always has been. Her biggest influences are folk musicians. Kind of like how Eric Clapton’s biggest influences are blues musicians.
    mm
Country music isn’t limited to the south though. California has its own country music scene out of Bakersfield.

Though Lana can certainly do Country. The country music community already really likes her to begin with. But I think COTCC will be a folk record.

folklore by taylor swift really made me change my mind about the folky sound that cocc might have (of course we have nothing but lana sometimes embodies the music through herself and this one feels stripped back and honest). also i've seen some lyrical parallels between lana and taylor through this new album and it's always nice to have an artist you love be influenced by your fave. very excited for this album

I love that album! Yes it is her longest record but it’s deeply personal for her. She had a lot to say at once on that record.

No, Lana would not ass kiss. See, Billie Eilish didn’t ass kiss though, but her team did. Her parents connections didn’t hurt either.

Billie did go on a ton of TV talk shows when the nominations were out. As we know Lana does not go in TV. There are a lot of things that I think Lana just isn’t willing to do. She is not a Hollywood insider who likes mingling with big shots.

Having said this, Lana does have one secret weapon; Jack Antanoff. In this case if he were to go around to all these industry events, mingle and simply talk about his work with Lana then she is in business. Also, the engineers and mixers who work on Lana’s music need to show up at events too. At AES last year (which I attended) I didn’t see Jack or any of Lana’s engineers/mixers. At AES, all the audio professionals gather and many of them are voting members of the Recording Academy. The key is to be making waves within The Producers and Engineers Wing of the academy. Now Billie’s team didn’t have to do any of that because of all the money she made. But I do believe that in the future that even if Lana doesn’t make the most money, if those who work with her in the recording process go to the AES Convention, Recording Academy events (in particular those run by the Producers and Engineers wing) then Lana will have a real advantage.

The biggest voting block in the academy is not the musicians. It’s the producers engineers and mixers. See they all loved Billie’s album because it was recorded in a bedroom with only one expensive plug-in that Finneas used.

But there is a way forward. Make no mistake about it.

Not to speculate, but vaping can certainly affect one’s singing voice. I wonder if the vaping affected her voice and then maybe she quit vaping after seeing it’s not good for her voice.

Vocal coaches left and right are telling these kids who sing not to vape. They always have to say it now because so many kids now vape.
