Yesterday, Lana Del Rey stopped by an Icing store inside Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
While she was there, she snapped a photo with an employee who was a fan.

I think she wants to interact and stuff, but I also think she's super sensitive and goes to pieces when people criticise her.
She was evidently extremely upset by the reaction to QftC and also to that Annie Mac interview. In both follow up videos, she looked like she'd been crying.
So I guess she's just trying to find that balance rn. 
Sometimes I think she'd be better off being like Lorde. Just go off and live her life and then come back when she releases an album. 
Informative and well-thought out emails from her like the ones Lorde sends would be better than impulsive IG posts and tweets - for her AND us

Even if she wasn't naming women and comparing herself to them she would've offended people. People an year ago were basically gatekeeping feminism and feminists and telling her that she has no right to feel like that and mocked her for considering herself to be delicate, which confirms that her feelings were valid. They claimed that feminism was always for women like Lana but why are then hypersexulized women in 90% of case faces of modern feminism? It does seem like exclusion although it may not actually be. On the other hand, she acted like she was the biggest victim in the music industry when I have yet to meet a Lana hater irl nor I have read disgusting comments about her before QFTC. Meanwhile I don't remember when Nicki wasn't hated since 2012. 
 
People still mock her for calling herself Gangsta Nancy Sinatra 10 year ago while for some reason it's not cringy to call yourself the Baddest Bitch (we've forgot that bitch was originally an insult to women). I defended Nicki in my previous paragraph but it's kinda hypocritical when she's considered cool for rapping about her big fat ass, being the baddest bitch while Gangsta Nancy Sinatra turns people off.

people who haven’t been through certain hardships or even just have an open mind to all sorts of artists expressions will simply never get it lol. They lack the compassion and understanding to realize art like that is just as worthy of existing as songs and about sunshine and rainbows. They find the song appalling (which, in a way, they should) but misplace their outrage to the artist and the song, instead of the message behind it. 
 
They’re mad at Lana for making a song about abuse when they need to be mad at abuse. 

I have never had a problem with the lyrics of “Ultraviolence” (the song). I’ve always believed true art expresses the ugly and fucked up in a beautiful way so that we can understand the mindset of the individuals under less-than-desirable circumstances.

a fandom opinion more than a lana opinion, but i wish people would understand that when some fans talk about wanting a trap or hiphop sound from lana we don't mean an album full of In My Feelings or Summer Bummers.... we mean a trap or hiphop influence mixed with lana's trademark sound

I love the amount of songs she gives us but I'm starting to tell myself that Lana should put the brakes on her projects because there is a pretty considerable loss of interest.
She's a person who certainly has thousands of projects in her head and she has trouble channeling it all, it goes all over the place and we don't really understand anymore...
She's an artist that I love and I don't mind having as many songs from her as possible but since these last 2 projects she's been on the decline, I think she should take a break just to think about everything.
 
I think her entourage influences a lot on her way of perceiving things and doing her albums, her friends are children of rich people in LA and you can feel this unnecessary lust in her songs, it's not luxurious like Ultraviolence where the universe was super interesting and deep. She needs to hang out with people who I think have a real identity, daring musicians, not with those little b*tches who seem to hang out with Lana because she's popular.
 
I don't remember anything about her last album apart from Tulsa and Yosemite, it's not for lack of trying.
I would like her to come back to her deep voice and come back to the fundamentals, heavy sounds with guitars if possible or more hip hop. I overdose on her whisperings and minimalist albums.

Lana is extremely smart and people should stop underestimating her intelligence. She sometimes take dumb decisions, but who haven't?
