    i randomly came across this thread, reading all the discussion about folks vs vogues got me giggling lmao this song is literally a response to a song by joni mitchell (who lana is obsessed with for some reason) also called california, and yes it is vogues.

    Tbh I wouldn’t mind either way if we got reworked songs on the album or not. I mean, we probably have tons of songs of hers that were reworked from unreleased songs we don’t even know about. It’s like how she has lots of unreleased songs that have parts reworked into other unreleased songs. It’s just part of the writing process and it’s not her fault so many of her unreleased songs to work from have already been leaked. I’d be more annoyed if she released a leaked song exactly as it was, like what’s the point of that lol.

    I honestly don't think they think about things that much. Like "album isn't finished" could mean release=finished or fully mastered=finished. Who knows. This is why she should have like. An actual team to schedule shit. She may have been much more successful if she had an actual team to post semi regularly and talk shit through. Once her fanbase gets tired of chewing the slivers she gives us and trying to read the future from that, she's finished.

    okay didn't they both say they don't read Lana's instagram typewriter posts maybe they truly are awful managers and didn't even realise she announced the date and ed is still trying to keep it a surprise.... i thinks im onto something here

    side note, can i mute the sounds on this site omg theyre scaring me

    I genuinely can't decide whether or not Ed has tried to throw a curve ball, meaning the album is finished and is coming September, he just wants it to be a surprise. Or if he's telling the truth and the album isn't ready at all... Ben saying new Lana music was coming soon kinda contradicts this too.
    And no disrespect to them as managers but are they even that aware, not saying he wouldn't know if the album was finished or not. But on one of his posts, he was congratulating Ellie Goulding on her latest album release and he said something like "The Bright Blue" instead of "Brightest Blue". Surely your manager would know the title of the album, of the artist, they are paid to promote.

    y'all are doing too much omg let's be grateful there's an album even being made right now not even a year after nfr. sure, she's unpredictable and not helpful but at least she's creating stuff for us and giving us material

    She has Dan Auerbach producing her music and Neil Krug photographing her and the project is fucking amazing. I guess those two are the formula.

    I sent this to some of the fan accounts on IG, as well as one of her friends. I’m sure Lana will get word of this.

    I don’t know why this isn’t a news headline? One of the all time great songwriters (Springsteen) praises Lana and the press doesn’t pick it up. Lana posts pictures from a protest and the press reports on what Khelani and Tinashe say. This is proof of the double standard Lana was mentioning in her IG post from May. That is very bias and dishonest reporting right there. Bruce praising Lana should be a news headline.

    Bruce Springsteen played Lana again on his SiriusXM channel the other day.

    Bruce had more praise for Lana. The other day he said the following;
    “That is ‘American,’ by the lovely Lana Del Rey. She’s, uh, name checking some guy from New Jersey in there. I’m not sure who, but … uh, she is from New York, and was raised in Lake Placid. Lake Placid, a fabulous little American town where I have spent many a lovely summer evening with my children and my family over the years. And Lana is simply one of the best songwriters in the country, as we speak. She just creates a world of her own and invites you in. So a big favorite of mine, the lovely Lana Del Rey.“

    To have this kind of praise from a legend such as Springsteen is a huge honor as I have said before. Woody Guthrie inspired the likes of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Dylan and Springsteen inspired Lana. Lana's folks roots can be experienced in all of her songs whether they feel folky or not.
    Regardless of what the critics say, Lana having the support of legends in this business such as Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Stevie Nicks etc matters a lot. Lets remember that much like Lana, when Bruce came on the scene he wasn't taken seriously at first. The critics didn't understand him and they wrote him off. Well, we all saw how that worked out. Lana has every reason to believe in herself and to always be reaching for the stars. She is this generation's greatest musical storyteller.
