yes im deeply shocked and upset 
 
it depends on her definition of country, but an album full of songs that sound like afraid, video games, ride, earthquakes, breaking up slowly, etc would not be horrible (those are the most acoustic/country-esque songs of hers that i can think of at this second)
 
there are also lots of R&B singers that delve into country-adjacent sounds and they come out great, so flirting with country music is not necessarily a bad thing
 
its just that most country music out these days is lame and sucks, but lana del rey is a different breed 

I wonder what her definition of Americana is cause I can see her going a lot of different directions with that same term describing the record. It sounds like she's still in the early stages of it tho and we know how quickly she changes direction so we'll see...
 
She also mentioned she's working with a new person so that's exciting too

I don't know why this idea shocks and upsets people. It's feels full-circle from her early unreleased music.

the show sucked but seeing her getting flowers from mainstream media outlets (which is not an everyday thing) makes me so proud of her legacy and how far she has come.

Removing categories from the Telecast (like the Oscars wanted to do last year) is about as disrespectful as it gets. Is she less important because she's alternative??
Just scrap the category all together then, if you don't think it's that important! 
 
And at the same time, they lavish the same artist (Taylor) with 23040505 prizes every year, and we have to watch certain artists blab on forever. Remember Billie Ellish sweeping at the Grammy's?
 
It's basically saying "this artist makes a lot of money for the industry, so we'll reword them a million times and hear them speak a million times for the sake of our ratings and popularity. And the rest of the artists? Screw you - no one cares." It's revolting.

I would say fans that act like this album is the gold standard and disregard all her albums pre and post NFR 

REAL red flags
- fans who think insiders + leakers are the most reliable sources (even when they're getting trolled to high heavens)
- fans who think that BTD / ultraviolence was her peak and miss "the old lana" (as if she ever left )
- fans who don't know how to research
- fans who think the fake edits are good / encourage the fake edits / think the fake edits are real
- fans who don't see the (what should be) obvious satirical / rhetorical elements in her work (kinda like how a&w is making fun of the "old lana" fans or how PMIAM is not a pro-grooming song)
- fans who think everything she's done is absolutely perfect and that she has not done a single bad thing in her life (*looks at the QFTC defenders*)
- fans who dismiss jack for no good reason
- fans who dismiss drew for no good reason
- fans who speak for lana as if they know her personally
- fans who intentionally start shit to prove a point

if you make some bizzare misinterpretations of her songs, esp her newer stuff and trying to twist things through her old BTD ~~aesthetic~~
 
like with A&W rn and all the tiktok stans completely taking the whore thing out of context, ma'am the experience of being an american whore as depicted in the song is pretty lousy
 
and i know everyone is free to interpret things but sometimes it's so glaringly wrong
