    a lip gloss moment.
i want a song that feels like the smell of alcohol from another man's breath
humidity and red lit windows aesthetically
a beautiful display of soul and resolve

    playing with constellations

something that sounds and looks like the description above.

Sypnosis: In this visually stunning and enigmatic music video, Lana Del Rey takes her fans on a mystical journey through a hidden tunnel under Ocean Blvd. The video starts with Lana discovering the entrance to the tunnel, and as she steps inside, the world around her transforms into a mesmerizing dreamscape. As she walks deeper into the tunnel, she encounters symbolic imagery mirroring the highs and lows of Lana's personal journey. The visuals seamlessly blend vintage aesthetics with futuristic elements, symbolizing the duality of her artistic evolution. As the song's chorus kicks in, the tunnel becomes a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors and emotions, leaving the audience captivated by the ethereal experience.

random list of moments from this album that i love:
    • when kintsugi starts playing and you hear that initial “there’s a certain point, the booooody can’t come back from…..” chills every single time
    • the sheer chaos of the interludes
    • the outro of grandfather
    • when candy necklace’s tempo picks up in its second chorus and goes a little jazzy
    • the added vocals during “down in florence alabaaaaaama” in paris texas
    • the bass intro of peppers !! so cool
    • additionally in peppers, when it breaks down into a surf rock style for like 10 seconds!!! soooooooo rad
    • “skippin rope in the bayou / slip softly into rain” from fishtail, just such a gorgeous lyric - oh and “wearing nothing but the summer bruises on my knees” UGH gorgeous
    • the random swooshing noise in fingertips that i assume is meant to obscure the word “mother”

honestly, i just love this record so much

    No fighting here, please

    Just some thoughts:

Let The Light In is one of her best songs and collabs of her career. It has a quirky warm cozy domestic vibe with also the Beatles and hippie and nature and 60s, it's like Tomorrow Never Came 2.0 but not too much alike.

Candy Necklace is perhaps top 10 worthy ballads of her career, also song. It's like a 'murder ballad' but it's also like a lullaby. It deserves to be a soundtrack in a movie too.

A&W easily one of her gloomiest songs ever lyrically. It's like folk-grunge-piano-rock-acoustic-trap-trance. One of her best songs of her career.

Ocean Blvd is amazing but the live version of the song is even better. Brilliant track tho.

Paris Texas is has such a cute instrumental, it's like such a raindrop-esque ballad, I can't describe it's kinda a song melodically I would hear in British or in other Western European soap series.

Fingertips, hate it or not, has her best lyrics. She spilled everything she wanted to talk about. Same with Kintsugi, although Fingertips is more doomed thematically.

So if The Next Best American Record is about Jonathan Wilson, then Yosemite is about him too since they are sister songs. If we look at the bridge she sings "How deep was the canyon that you came from?" and it makes sense as he is from Laurel Canyon. The puzzle pieces come together and I think @Unidentified Major Tom you are totally right about your theory.

I was kind of half-kidding there lol. Blue is a beautiful color, it's one of my favorites. I mean blue is where the name blues came, of course she likes it. And blue is very America too. The color of skies and seas too.

I hear “let the winter winter in” like she’s cheering on the dude who supposedly snorts like a champ

On another note, I made the mistake of looking at this thread today and got hung up on THAT Trash Magic line again. Where did they use to go where he’d buy her a slice of cherry pie, I just need to know…

Isn’t it “love the winter we're not in”?

It makes sense, cause snow is a synonym for cocaine and winter kinda doesn’t exist in Florida, or at least Miami. So, the winter she talks about is the cocaine snorting.

I always thought her diction was really clear prior to LFL tbh bar brilliant erection in Bel Air.

especially compared to other alt female songwriters like Tori Amos(Esp) because I cannot understand one song throughout  and Bjork who can sometimes say words differently.

lana herself told that line to me in DMs, since it's coming from her mouth there's not much to discuss lol
definitely a drug reference and she kinda mumbles over the word "doubt" that's why it's hard to hear i'll give you that Embach, but how can you not hear that she says "your" and it's one word not two words

I think this is the one Lana line that I will never get what she says. It's a mystery forever.

Your Medellín is super random, makes no sense with the song itself. One theory for it is that the song is Italian mafia-themed, mentions Miami which is popular for its history with drugs and also apparently mentions Medellín, a Colombian city, and we know Colombian history with drugs too. She also says "all the Colombians" in Florida Kilos, which is about cocaine. That would be problematic lol.

I still do not hear her saying "I was so wrong not to doubt, your Medellín, tangerine dreams" in Salvatore. Like I don't care that it's in Genius or AzLyrics or LanaWiki, I just don't hear it!

Ever since I heard this song I have heard this part as "I was so wrong not to tell, I'm in regine, tangerine dreams". Like I have heard the song with headphones, full volume million times and I still hear her saying "regine", I can literally hear her saying the "re" part. Many other people have heard that too. But what the fuck means "being in regine" though?

So...which lyric is the right one? I need answers...

Can you please help us, do you have any info about those lyrics, Squidward @111

In ancient Roman religion, Feronia was a goddess associated with wildlife, fertility, health, and abundance. As the goddess who granted freedom to slaves or civil rights to the most humble part of society, she was especially honored among plebeians and freedmen.  @Elle

Used to go to the Palm Feronia makes sense… but buying cherry pie there?  This will bother me until i d word

The correct line is: "you're so alive back in the countryside"
I like both interpretations too though x

The kicker is, in the live version you can see and hear more clearly that the word starts with a "P" which also negates the "Comfort Inn" theory.
Aside from asking her herself, I really wish one of the other live performance videos would surface such as the one from The National Underground, because we know it exists. That would be incredibly helpful x

Controversial opinion maybe, but i think a lot of lanas “misheard” lyrics are made to sound that way on purpose. Mother loves wordplay, i wouldn't be surprised if there are some intentional double meanings in her lyrics. “White mustang” sounding like “why am i staying?” is the first one that comes to mind.
  25. lili liked a post in a topic by Surf Noir in Lana's diction and incomprehensible lyrics
"with ribbons and knots" goes along with "so i do what you want"

also, if you watch some live performances, she does a hand/arm gesture that goes along with it
