I mean.. this is a music discussion forum, not a circlejerk of positivity. It’s annoying when one person shares the same negative opinion over and over again but the reason why you’re seeing a lot of the same opinions is cause a Lot of people share those same opinions. The “stop complaining, get over it, just enjoy the music” argument is so dumb tbh like why be on a music discussion forum if you only wanna see positivity & praise… You want the people that have criticism to keep it to themselves lol? That kinda fully defeats the purpose of this site.

even tho she will probably never write an album in the tier of The Family Jewels again its okay with me

also when it comes to the opinions in this thread, i mean, it’s a forum, that’s kinda the point, everyone’s gonna share + discuss their opinions whether they be negative or positive 
 
and what else do you expect when the negatives have been outweighing the positives lately 

all his insta captions about her songs are so sweet, he always calls her an amazing person, conceptualist, lyricist, says her work is high art, says valley of the dolls is one of his all time favorites..  
 
i get the creative freedom thing, like yeah, i get there’s like.. some cool complex about writing a song alllll by yourself, but a little help isn’t always a bad thing

her lyricism gets real weak sometimes (that being said, there are some songs here and there that are really great - adiaml title track for one - so we know she still has it in her, it’s just potential that she locked up in a cupboard)

that's honestly not the case... she checks all the boxes but the process of songwriting. ADIAML never fully realized its concept due to the abhorrent lyricism throughout the album - the title track kinda did a good job but it just falls flat sometimes... I get that she's having fun with it and some people do enjoy it (including myself) but cmon you can't be coming up with lyrics like "You got a job and a car and a good dental plan/You got health insurance, pocket money, damn" when you've written absolute masterpieces like I'm A Ruin and Obsessions. I have high hopes for the next record and I hope she actually improves on ADIAML's problems

I saw he died by suicide at 35 years old, during his peak. he had tourette's syndrome and depression.  there's a exhibition of his paintings going on called "blue view" at the art gallery of ontario settled to be viewed alongside picasso's blue period paintings
 
I think the painting chosen for paradise might be from the same time he painted this one called "the realm of appearences".
I really like his style and reminds me so much of gustav klimt, van gogh and ofc picasso himself
 

People seem to forget that this is what the artist felt about the album and translated onto canvas
