Yeah, I'm not saying A&W is better than anything Pink Floyd or Radiohead ever wrote, I'm just saying the soundscape reminds me of progressive rock/alternative rock albums. Not that deep

I’m pretty sure people are drawing the comparisons to sound, right? I definitely see the rock band from 70s or 90s comparisons in the first half since it’s straight up folk and a bit progressive. They’re pretty glaring. I’ve heard influences from Hotel California and Going to California with the guitar, and even some Trent Reznor with the piano.
I don’t really hear Melodrama in the first half, second half it’s is definitely there though. But tbh I hear more Masseduction, like Hang On Me.

I can make comparisons to any band/artist that I see fit. The introduction reminds me of On the Run by Pink Floyd and Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead. This is a forum, and I'm allowed to express my thoughts as well. Not exaggerating anything.

They are already comparing drum patterns trying to find something to complain about

She doesn't really announce songs anymore, nor does she release songs on Fridays, the start of Billboard's tracking week

I want to take the time to appreciate that this is the first LDR album cycle in a while that feels like 95% of us are united and excited for

When I first read the W magazine interview where she contrasted the album to Honeymoon, brought up Swan Song, revealed her automated songwriting process for this record, and shared the opening lines to Fingertips, a song that seems like is super special to her since she mentioned it so many times now, I knew her magnum opus/Ray of Light moment was upon us. I just didn't know it would unite LanaBoards

Given that both insiders told us that the second half of the album is stronger than the first one and yet we’ve already been gagged by tracks 2 and 4, I think that we’re going to get a truly great record.

So many tracks have been highlighted by them: The Grants (full and gorgeous), Candy Necklace (massive), Kintsugi (best song of all-time according to our favourite insider), Fingertips (stunner), Paris, Texas (delicate highlight), Grandfather (BOZ’s favourite), Let The Light In (singled out by both insiders), Fishtail (the potential fan favourite of the album), Peppers (a slutty vibey bop apparently), Taco Truck (an outro for the books). Even Sweet is praised for its beautiful strings, Kintsugi thinks that Margaret is actually great, and BOZ adores the instrumentation on both interludes.

This album is shaping up to be one of the most important works in Lana’s career.

Can we talk about how progressive rock the intro to A&W is

It feels like a Pink Floyd track is about to begin

BoZ also shared the "official" Ocean Blvd lyrics and the intern didn't even understand the Harry Nilsson line

Wow, this song has really upped my anticipation for the album.  I absolutely loved the title track, this song however was very unexpected.  These two songs together really makes me feel like we're going to get the progression from NFR that I've been wanting (An NFR-like-album but filtered through a sense of magical realism/surrealism if that makes sense *haha*).  (The trajectory of these two tracks feels very much like Chemtrails -> White Dress to me.)

It was hard to wait before, but now I can't wait to hear the entire project because I feel like it will be such a journey with vision.

EDIT: I've really come to appreciate "Chemtrails" the album for what it ended up being, but the title track and "White Dress" made me think we were going in a different direction which I'm feeling this album is going to deliver on *haha*

Yeah, the Judah Smith Interlude’s instrumentation is very unsettling and eerie according to BOZ. I’m actually very excited about it. It feels like the natural continuation of the darkness of A&W. He loves the Jon Batiste Interlude. Apparently it’s very wild and heavy on electric guitars! Both interludes will be divisive - Kintsugi dislikes them, lol! -, but I’m glad she’s not playing it safe. What intrigues me the most is that both insiders told us that the album is
sonically adventurous and unexpected and that there will be something for everyone. The track rankings will be all over the place, but it’ll be the sign of a great diverse album.

2,401,100 filtered streams?! The track surpassed Ocean Blvd’s second day and NFR’s first day streams! A 7-minute track with zero playlisting and promo did that. This is insane! I -
