Given that both insiders told us that the second half of the album is stronger than the first one and yet we’ve already been gagged by tracks 2 and 4, I think that we’re going to get a truly great record.

So many tracks have been highlighted by them: The Grants (full and gorgeous), Candy Necklace (massive), Kintsugi (best song of all-time according to our favourite insider), Fingertips (stunner), Paris, Texas (delicate highlight), Grandfather (BOZ’s favourite), Let The Light In (singled out by both insiders), Fishtail (the potential fan favourite of the album), Peppers (a slutty vibey bop apparently), Taco Truck (an outro for the books). Even Sweet is praised for its beautiful strings, Kintsugi thinks that Margaret is actually great, and BOZ adores the instrumentation on both interludes.

This album is shaping up to be one of the most important works in Lana’s career.

2,401,100 filtered streams?! The track surpassed Ocean Blvd’s second day and NFR’s first day streams! A 7-minute track with zero playlisting and promo did that. This is insane! I -

So happy to see the success of A&W . 2.4m streams without playlisting is HUUUUUGE.

Which makes me wonder if they've made the wrong choice to release it this early before the album... should have been released a week before for the best promo(unless they got other things planned???)

Maybe the airplane promo or...a performance ?

Also @plastiscguy pls help. Whats the lowest note her voice reaches in A&W?

boz shared the official lyrics of a&w on atrl

    I haven’t done a cartwheel since I was nine
I haven’t seen my mother in a long long time
    I mean look at me
Look at the length of my hair, and my face, the shape of my body
Do you really think I give a damn
What I do with the chance of just hearing them talking

I say I live in Rosemead, really I live at the Ramada
    It doesn’t really matter
    Doesn’t really really matter

Go and walk her into my bedroom
Then we go **** on the hotel floor
It’s not about having someone to love me anymore
This is the experience of an American *****

Called up one, drunk called up another
    Forensic Files wasn’t on
Watching Teenage Diary of a Girl wondering what went wrong
    I’m a princess, I’m divisive
Ask my why, why, why I’m like this
Amy Huntress kind of like this
I don’t know maybe, I’m just like this

I say I live in Rosemead, really I’m at the Ramada
    It doesn’t really matter
    Doesn’t really really matter

Called him up to come over again
Yeah I know I’m over my head but oh
It’s not about having someone to love me anymore
Now this is the experience of an American *****

I mean look at my hair
Look at the length of it and the shape of my body
If I told you that I was raped
Do you think that anybody would think
    I didn’t ask for it
    I didn’t ask for it
    I won’t testify
I already ****** up my story
    Talk about this mm
So many other things you can’t believe
Did you know I sing, I can still breathe
Looking like a sidepiece at thirty-three

    Go into the shower
    Turn down the back beat
Puts the shower on while he holds me
Slips out the back door to talk to me
    I’m invisible
    Look how he hold me
    I’m invisible
    I’m invisible
I’m a ghost look how he hold me
It’s not about someone to love me anymore
Ok, now this is the experience of an American *****
It’s not about having someone to love me anymore
Now this is the experience of an American *****

This is the experience of an American *****

Yeah, the Judah Smith Interlude’s instrumentation is very unsettling and eerie according to BOZ. I’m actually very excited about it. It feels like the natural continuation of the darkness of A&W. He loves the Jon Batiste Interlude. Apparently it’s very wild and heavy on electric guitars! Both interludes will be divisive - Kintsugi dislikes them, lol! -, but I’m glad she’s not playing it safe. What intrigues me the most is that both insiders told us that the album is
sonically adventurous and unexpected and that there will be something for everyone. The track rankings will be all over the place, but it’ll be the sign of a great diverse album.

what if it actually does matter that Lana was at the Ramada??? because whenever ppl strongly try to convince you something "doesnt matter" it usually does
no jk, but nonetheless, i always do like doing these sort of delulu deep dives into the places or people she mentions

       - i thought this is just cute bc like #shesstillthesame lol <3

then I found some photos of the Ramada Inn from the 1960s, this one caught my eye as it was located in Vernon, Texas.. right on the border to OOOOklahomaaa!

unfortunately, it burned down in October 2007, it had been remodelled to an 'Executive Inn' by then but it made me think of Lana's poem The Land of 1,000 Fires
    mentioning Vernon-
     "Vernon
    everything's burnt here
    there's no escaping it
the air is fried and on fire"
