I'd love it if she includes more experimental songs!!! I remember a number of fans who saw her during Ocean Blvd era praising the experimentation on the album to her face which probably reassured her to do so (after she thought the last three tracks weren't gonna be recieved well)

zodiac and this new song go together so well, they both have an offbeat ethereal vibe. maybe that’s why leakers have been holding back zodiac

If the new song is an actual song it's kinda giving album intro - she tends to unintentionally connect her closers with the openers of the following album like with Hope and White Dress and now this one and Taco truck 'cause of the Lake Placid mention and the Venice Bitch call back. More than welcome with wherever it's placed though

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but if this song is indeed an album track there's a possibility Zodiac could be included given their experimental natures

And yeah can't wait for how this album decides to take shape

I’m praying it could be an A&W situation where she’s chopped and segmented a bit of a new song when performing it live. Kind of like how she’ll repeat “I say I live in Rosemead really I’m at the Ramada” line in a live performance. If it’s just an intro and nothing comes from it it will be one of my greatest losses because I’m obsessed with the dark moody vibe it’s giving. I don’t think it’s a coincidence she debuted it at the same show she debuted another new song, however

this is just a crazy take considering I can count on my hands the songs with “minimalist” production on her past three albums… it’s like you guys hear one song that contains piano and guitar and it just ruins the entire album for you

    im all for folk

I feel like this is gonna be one of her biggest hits. The snippet and performance has reached people in my life that are Very far removed from the whole Lana world. She’s at her peak rn in terms of cultural relevance and this is exactly the type of song that would blow up right now.

I really wish it were like that.

Since Ultraviolence, every album ending situates the sound or theme of the next one.

Ultraviolence ends with jazz, which links well to Honeymoon.
Honeymoon ends with a message asking for understanding and links with Lust for Life, the most politicized album.
Lust for Life ends by evoking the sea and blue, which links Norman, who, in turn, ends with a more personal song that sets the tone for the next, more diaristic albums.
I think it's incredible that Blue Banisters is about family relationships, ends with Sweet Carolina and then OceanBlvd opens with The Grants.

But why am I saying that?
Because Lana is one of the most versatile artists I've ever met, but, in addition to her own style, there are these changes in the way she makes her music with very smooth transitions. Everything she does relates to her previous work, which makes me think that: even though OceanBlvd is more recognized as a personal and intimate album, something that really stands out for me is that it is very experimental. She brought new things: she has fingertips being recorded in a single take with improvisations, she has a mashup/remix of her own song with another new one. That's what I value about the album.

And, just like the closure of OceanBlvd, with all that mix, I believe that this is what we will have at Lasso. Country, but a lot of experimentation, and we are already seeing in these two teased songs that I strongly believe they are for the album. I'm very excited.

Given Lana's cryptic responses and overall uncertainty about "Lasso", the postponement makes complete sense, lol. She's probably been inspired a lot during the last few months, and she's been playing around with the album's direction.

I kinda think that "Tough!" will be a stand-alone single, but probably a teaser of the more contemporary and fun segments of the upcoming album. Let her cook! Not to mention that the Ocean Blvd era feels incredibly fresh, unlike Chemtrails and Blue Banisters which were kinda over before they even started.

Yeah I know that a stadium show is a big deal but if she didn't do this for Coachella it's probably cause she plans on releasing something soon and April was way to early to play two new songs

If we didn’t know what A&W sounds like and we heard her performing it live we would be confused like this I think. Manifesting an out of body experience like A&W for this song.
