Oh yeah, it’s a beautiful song but I am hoping that’s it’s one of the weaker tracks on the album, it’s essentially a yassified IYLDWM (which I’m completely fine with). I do prefer it over IYLDWM and LMLYLAW to an extent though, it’s like a more fully realized version of them  it sounds like a Hans Zimmer-ification of Lana’s past two albums 

For real. I do like the song as I said before but damn…people are just blindly throwing compliments and saying they love it and she ate etc. It’s a beautiful song, the lyricism of this era will be unmatched, but the production itself does feel BBish, as if we’re still stuck in a loop. The insiders were gassing this the FUCK up saying it was different from anything she’d ever done and her magnum opus and…lyrically yes (aside from the last 2 minutes being “don’t forget me” sounding like one of those weird upbeat pharmaceutical commercial song covers) but production wise? You start the song and it’s IYLDWM with *better lyrics and LMLYLAW with orchestra on top. I’m excited for the orchestra, the piano did not disappoint, and I heard the beautiful sound of actual drums somewhere in there but this doesn't feel completely different as people were saying. That’s not to say I didn’t give her 45 dollars at 10:14AM as soon as I found the preorder link but I am holding out hope for the album itself! 

Why do i not see a lot of people on here being critical of the new single… I really expected something more/different the way those insiders were hyping it up. It’s rly giving “i’ve heard this before” to me. Same tempo, structure, build up, etc as we can find on LMLYLAW, IYLDWM, BBS…

It has a VERY similar vibe to Arcadia and IYLDWM. Don't think it genuinely sounds like Arcardia, but the comparison isn't unjustified.

i see the comparison because this single sounds exactly like bb x nfr. my first thought when the song started was “wow this sounds like it could be on nfr”. and then she started singing and it reminded me of bb because the melody and lyrics aren’t catchy, they’re more contemplative and slow if that makes sense

I think it's just the hype. It'll take a few days to come to the senses. The same thing happened with Let Me Love You Like a Woman

That insider who compared the song to like 7 other Lana songs was definitely right. 

To be honest i’m a bit disappointed. Yes she served with the visuals but Ocean Blvd sounds very Blue Banisters-ed. The second half of the song at least has some interesting instrumental and voice layering. But overall i’m not using her too much. 
 
I wanted something completely different than what we’ve heard from NFR. I’m sure there’s gonna be better songs on the album.

Idk. I guess I’m just kind of pathetic whore for UV/HM/NFR where I like more texture than strings and piano

She really hates those drums huh.. WHY is there no 'prominent' drums even in the bridge
I waited the 2nd chorus had more instrument build up. The bridge has nothing special production wise??? ( love her vocals in there) 
I'm not a fan of this backup singer.. She could've done backup vocals herself way better.. 
ANYWAYSSS I like it but i have mixed feelings..

She still has it as far as we know! She just doesn’t seem to drive it anymore (not since summer 2012). The last time we saw it was in August 2020 - she had posted a video to Instagram of her personal trainer demonstrating some exercises outside her house, and we could see the Mercedes parked in the driveway. I really loved it too!

For me UV is just a difficult album for anybody to top-sure it’s not a wordy lyrical masterpiece(it wouldn’t fit the album) but it has good songwriting melodically and some great quotes lyrics/ is a storytelling experience- the production is on another level-west coast and shades of cool makes me ascend-
 
i can’t imagine Lana ever making an album I’d consider better

“I’m personally very happy” makes me think some people either won’t be happy or won’t care. 
 
I’m convinced it’s not a Dua/Lana collab. Why would he react like that? Not even just the excitement but why would his reaction centre around Lana.. like he’s a Dua fan over anything else. 
 
I’m thinking something like .. she’s being honoured at some kind of award show, she’s getting a documentary, something named after her. Like if they changed the name of California to “Lanafornia” that would be shocking AND exciting. I’m on board for that
