Jody Domingue, a photographer friend of Nikki Lane who has photographed both her and Lana together in the past, posted the following picture of Nikki on her stories today. It appears to have been taken the same day Nikki & Lana did their photoshoot with Madeline Northway back in October. Now just imagine Lana in this photo instead of Nikki and a diamond horseshoe in the top right corner engraved with the word “Lasso”… that would slay so hard as an album cover imo. Paging @lmdr to work his manip magic and edit my vision to life xx

Speaking of diamond horseshoes, I could totally see Diamond Horseshoe being a song title. Lana wore a diamond horseshoe ring & necklace a couple times last year. She wore the ring on the day I met her in Alabama (~”He’s my rodeo king and I’m his Alabama, diamond horseshoe ring and I know how my man-uh likes it”~) & I pointed it out and complimented it, and she also wore it in her photoshoot for Hollywood Reporter. I commented the lyric from Axl Rose Husband on the post she made about the photoshoot (which ironically was also on the same day I met her a few hours earlier) and she replied with “exactly exactly”… let’s not forget that Lana teased a lyric to Taco Truck x VB in an Instagram comment reply to me a year before the song was released… and she replied to this comment last September and Lasso is set to be released this September… Manifesting x

According to Lana in the past four years or so, she has been simultaneously working on a variety of albums that haven't come to fruition.

After the release of NFR (October 2019) she announced Pacific Blue, a covers album that she said would feature covers of songs by the Beach Boys, Elvis, and Chris Isaak. Since announcing that album in 2019, she has sporadically teased it over the years. It is generally inferred that this album - as Pacific Blue - didn't come to fruition, and she changed the concept to be an album full of "American standards and classics", those words directly inferring a collection of "folk" covers. She announced the "American standards" bit in November 2020. She would be quiet about the covers album throughout the rollout of Chemtrails over the Country Club until her March 2021 interview with MOJO. In the interview with MOJO, she further referred to the folk covers album as a one of two albums she had developed - the other being a separate country covers album.
After the release of Chemtrails over the Country Club, Nikki Lane remarked that she and Del Rey had written multiple songs together and that we could "expect to see the fruit of that". A few days later while performing with Nikki, Lana remarked “looking forward also to our country record that we’re putting out later.”
Until September 2021, we wouldn't hear about any of these records due to the rollout of Blue Banisters. That month is when she revealed that she was still working on her "covers album" a couple days out of the week. The next month on an Instagram live, she said she was considering combining her covers album with her country album.
Again, she would be silent about any of these records until August 2022, when she posted on her story "hope you guys like country". The rollout of Ocean Blvd probably got in the way of these records again. Now she's officially announced the country-based album Lasso, which may take any, all, or no form of any of the previously-mentioned records.

    Laying it all out:
At face value, without any deeper thought, this basically lays out the potential existence of six unreleased records. That being said, it's obvious that some of these projects overlapped and took extremely fluid forms. It also seems that Del Rey even confused some of the publications she spoke with, or was outright unclear when speaking about the albums herself. But what is the truth!??!?

    The six alluded-to albums:
    "Pacific Blue" covers album
"American standards and classics" folk covers album
"A cover album of country songs" (described by MOJO)
"Other folk songs" album (described by MOJO)
"The fruit" of writing sessions with Nikki Lane / "our country record" as described by Lana
"Lasso" - remarked to be a "country album"

    My thoughts:
Pacific Blue became the American standards and classics folk covers album, which is the same "other folk songs" album that MOJO was referring to.
I have no idea what her cover album of country songs is, though she articulated she wanted to combine her covers album with her country album. It's not clear if she was referring to her country covers or her folk covers album, though it is more likely to be the country covers.
Del Rey's writing sessions/country record with Nikki Lane AND her country covers album may ACTUALLY be Lasso.

In conclusion, I think these are now TWO albums:
Pacific Blue / American Standards and Classics / Other Folk Songs
    AND
Country Covers Album / Nikki Lane Collab Album / Lasso

    Thoughts???

So…I have been interested in vocals for years now. By no means am I an expert and I also have zero training; I’ve just watched a lot of videos on this topic and a lot that encompasses it such as agility, belting, breath support, straining, etc.

Lana, in my opinion, is a great singer. Her voice is like nothing I’ve heard before, her tone naturally has a melancholy/vintage quality, and she uses her voice in unique and creative ways. Is she, on the other hand, an excellent vocalist? Not really. Definitely not on the level of modern singers like Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Perrie Edwards, Tori Kelly, etc. She’s quite untrained. That being said…there are so many vocal moments that have impressed me, and I thought I’d create this thread to share them and for you guys to share your favorite moments as well! Additionally if someone is educated on the technical aspects of singing, feel free to analyze her vocals.

    Ended the whisper singers!

Idk I feel like her album titles have been quite on the nose before. Ultraviolence as a title is dark and heavy, Honeymoon has a hazy almost dreamlike feel, Norman is  Americana, Blue Banisters is boring, Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd is wordy and diaristic.

Lasso seems to be in the same vein

A little essay i wrote for the country anti’s

I understand that many of you may be feeling disappointed or uncertain about Lana's decision to explore country music in her upcoming album. It's natural to have reservations when an artist ventures into new territory, especially when it deviates from their established sound. However, I urge you to consider the potential for greatness that lies within this new direction.

First and foremost, Lana is a master storyteller. Her ability to evoke emotion and paint vivid scenes with her lyrics is unparalleled, and the storytelling aspect of country music aligns perfectly with her strengths. Country music is known for its narrative-driven songs that explore themes of love, loss, and the human experience – themes that Lana has touched upon in her previous work as well. By embracing the country genre, Lana has the opportunity to delve even deeper into these universal themes and connect with her audience on a profound level.

Furthermore, country music offers Lana a chance to showcase her versatility as an artist. While she may be best known for her dreamy, cinematic soundscapes, Lana has always incorporated elements of Americana and folk into her music. By embracing country influences more overtly, Lana can tap into a rich musical tradition while still putting her own unique spin on it. This fusion of styles has the potential to create something truly special – a blend of country twang and Lana's signature ethereal beauty.

Lastly, it's important to remember that artistic growth often requires taking risks and stepping outside of one's comfort zone. Lana has never been one to play it safe, and her willingness to push boundaries and explore new sonic landscapes is what has made her such a compelling and enduring artist. While country music may seem like a departure from her usual sound, it's also an opportunity for her to evolve and grow as an artist, and isn't that what we want for our favorite musicians?

In conclusion, while it's understandable to feel hesitant about Lana's foray into country music, I encourage you to approach her upcoming album with an open mind and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. Who knows? You may just discover that country is a perfect fit for Lana after all, and that her music has the power to transcend genres and touch your soul in ways you never imagined.

I never trust 'insiders' with long term, non specific information about Lana's releases, because if she doesn't know what's coming (and she's shown this again and again), how is anyone else going to know.

I think somebody might’ve made a good point earlier (even if they weren’t being serious).. maybe she hasn’t promoted it because she wants people to be ready and raring for her country sound

this song is a complete different direction which only pushes people to want more of this sound

So when do we actually think we’ll get any sort of announcement from Lana on this album??

I still live in fear that the album might just fly in to the ether and never be spoken about by Lana again lol
