The “bts” shots some of you keep talking about aren’t really “bts” at all.. they’re just apart of the music video.. you’re just looking at it incorrectly

The more I think about whether I actually want to buy this picture disc or not, the more conflicted I am lol like idk if I really wann spend $100 on this 
 
I think the thing that bothers me the most is that its for Born to Die but the picture used is from Ride....which could make sense if it was the BTD: Paradise editon, but its not...
 
I still am wondering what was going through the artists minds when they decided on making these paintings based off of the albums...like literally none of them fit the vibes of the albums 

All this just really makes me wonder like Jenna Gribbon said BTD was one of her favorite albums, but she chose a picture that wasn't even from that era?

i LOVE this. so so meta extremely cool concept. blurring the lines between real and the fake. it’s like her version of the movie perfect blue almost. 

Dont have the time or the mental energy to elaborate now, but this may be the peak of her artistry till now.

The Rockefeller family is an extremely wealthy family with ties to new york and florida so i always thought the references matched the aesthetic perfectly.

Edit: I also need to say, that ending from the diamonds dropping into blood, to the implied murder scene, to her smile at the ending... that gave me the same chill that her BTD era videos did with the car crash in BTD, being pulled underwater in Blue Jeans, the jump in Summertime Sadness, the shooting in National Anthem. This is full circle IM CryINg. Also thank you Jon Batiste. You were gorgeous too!

the flash of the camera at the end fades into her looking beautiful, happy, and alive at her star. some are saying she might be in heaven?

The BTS vs the « real footage », just like the empty promesse of a candy necklace, her looks, the old Hollywood vibes, the references to her other MV, plus the black and white imagery that mirrors the first photoshoot of the era AND the album cover… This has got to be one of her best. 

I literally watched this video thinking omg lanaboards are gonna be gagged and was surprised to hear people complaining?? im so confused this was SPECTACULAR 

OMG she has outdone herself AGAIN I love the meta theme so much which made me realize the Jon Batiste Interlude is sort of another behind the scenes piece of Jon and Lana playing in the studio together. That song exudes so much joy to me and it made me feel the same way seeing Lana at the end of CN video smiling on the walk of fame.

because a polished music video about the broken Hollywood dream makes no sense
 

I think this is my very first time watching a Lana video on repeat.

Imo this video would be very lackluster and weird if the bts wasn’t a part of it. It shows how much she’s evolved. It’s not really about the glamour or vanity anymore, it’s about the imperfect soul behind the scenes who wanted fame more than anything but realized it’s fleeting and cruel as time went on. Like all the women before her and the women she admired, she realizes she’s lucky to be alive with the reckless way she was living when she was younger, and she still has hope for the future. Her appearance really couldn’t have less to do with this message, and I love that
