California is a great song but i wished it had more of a climax and added bigger production for the chorus, they could've added some really crazy guitars or something to match the vocals. It comes off almost demo like

 

 

If you know how to do it, maybe you can make that edit to California. There's some people in here who do edits of Lana songs on YouTube. It would be interesting that's for sure.

I think NFR is a good album. Better than Lust for Life. My favorite song is Venice Bitch. I enjoy the epic, trippy, psychedelic quality of the track.

You have to give to Ariana’s team for being extremely smart and chart savvy. They just uploaded another video (lyric video) the same week as the main video for Angels.

 

Why? Because the main video has interruptions which is bad for streaming. People who stream music on YouTube won’t stream a video that has sound effects and extra dialogue.

 

Wow .periodT wished Lana team was smart.

 

They literally let Fuck It I love You/ The Greatest bombed on YouTube. Sad to see because it’s some of her best song/video. Having the word “fuck” as the title literally destroy the algorithm. The video can’t be on recommended list, can’t trend, not searchable...yikes

 

And younger audience (main pop demo) below 18 accounts can’t view it at all.

 

Lana also had interruptions with the doin time video but thankfully that song has a separate audio version which isnt effected.

I think this is exactly my problem with the track and why I can't love it like everyone else does - the messy raw vocal could work, but the song needs more of a grunge vibe to really pull it off and make the song special, and like you said with the crazy guitars that could've given an UV-esque vibe.
