if the record did end up being some kind of country, TJF would be considered some kind of lowkey sinister country track. maybe it might just be the lyrics, but the tempo of the snippet really sells some kind of taunting vibes.

i mean u didn't mention this typa measurement. but it might be warm. which could mean slow. if it was gonna be more nurturing. don't really know what her approach'd be for it tho. ditto

I didn’t know that 9/11 was still a date considered “off limits” for releases... I understand the impact that event had on American lives but didn’t know there was an “unspoken rule” for releases...

I very much doubt there is. Business as usual goes on all over the country. I live in NYC, and, except for five or ten year 'anniversaries,' most people don't even acknowledge it unless something goes wrong and some become conspiracy-minded. It's not as if it's a nationally-recognized holiday, though it may become one some day. I think the "unspoken rule" is a mistaken idea or pipe dream some have, perhaps spread via the internet like so many other urban legends.

Now you saying Woman for some reason had something click in my head and reminded me of her collab with Cat Power - maybe that is what she means by new folk? Something like Wayamaya now I can get behind THAT (it’s also the vibe behind Quiet Waiter) but like I don’t see how TJF would fit in there. It’s like CG in the midst of NFR - just doesn’t fit in the mood To me somehow. Also the name of the record doesn’t really give me folk vibes ; I don’t know this era is making me so confused

That’s what I was thinking too, but haven’t really paid attention to if there were big releases or not regarding that date. So I don’t think it’s impossible for her to release something this Friday, though her singles rarely come out that day if I’m correct.

I guess she'd want to release the lead (which I think will be COCC since she shot a high budget video for it) before the album tho and I think that there will be at least two/three weeks between LMLYLAW and COCC (track) so I don't know 

 

Mid-October COCC (16ish) still seems the most plausible option to me... preorder next week!
