TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

She definitely sounded unhappy in some parts of that interview, but I'm not sure when this interview was actually done. It could have been done months and months ago for all we know. But, I do recall her mother's day post which mentioned something about not having children of her own, and I get the sense that she'd love to be living in a quiet sleepy town somewhere in the midwest surrounded by animals and her child and her partner. After all, at the end of the day , she is a woman who seems to have those desires that many women have. I just hope that she truly follows that path if that's what she really wants. I would not want her to stay in Los Angeles for the sake of her career, if she would rather lead a quiet life in the midwest, where she could still work on her music, poetry, and art, but she could scale things back so that she could have a personal private life.  When I was in my twenties, I lived for the drama, toxic relationships, and the highs and lows that came with them. Now that I'm 35, all I want is to move to the mountains, be surrounded by my chihuahuas, and live my life in peace! Especially with all the craziness that's going on in this country right now.  It's enough to unsettle even the most steely individuals. I have no doubt that she is struggling mentally right now! Many of us are! ♥️

I was thinking about it, and it seems that every five to seven years or so, Lana kind of absorbs a new primary place. Of course, she always references so many different places in her music, but her sound and mood of her records always kind of reflects one general place.

I feel like everything she did music-wise from 2005 to Born to Die reflected different scenes of New York, from the singer-songwriter scene in Williamsburg, to the nightlife crowd, and then the more glamorous and well-to-do side of Manhattan , and then Paradise through NFR felt inspired by multiple cities in California (most notably LA but other ones as well) and now I feel she‘s really embracing this Midwestern thing, which I think will add a richness and heartland-rock vibe to her next few records with a more unfiltered and rawer narrative. I’m excited to see what the future holds for her!

Y’all talm bout Rick this, Jack that like did Emily Haynie die?? His production transcends the levels that Rick and Jack produce at.

Emile Haynie could do a Music to Watch Boys to or Cinnamon Girl but Rick and Jack could never do the magnum opus that is Off To The Races

the btd demos are great but tbh emile really made all those songs so cinematic and elegant. i think part of what makes btd so memorable is the mary jane sample that's used in almost every song, it's like the key instrument to the entire album

i love you, but you don't understand me.

Lana and Jack have brought up how Chemtrails is essentially the follow-up to NFR, and I thought Norman was the most Lizzy-album we'd gotten post the image shift into Lana. It felt like the fully formed, matured version of the sentiments she explored during AKA, but actually I think that will be Chemtrails. She's gone full circle back to the locations that remind me of "Raise Me Up, "Pawn Shop Blues", etc. I'm excited for her to perfect the chaotic yet folky energy that I feel listening to AKA.

I feel the same way! It’s almost as if everything she was building up to from the start of her career has now been unraveling itself thematically, sonically, and with this era especially, visually. It’s really amazing to watch and be a part of all these chapters of Lana’s life, even if it’s in a small way as a fan!
