I generally don’t like Pitchfork either but they rated it highly for her political outspokenness, turning her lens outward, to be more worldly as opposed to her microcosm, and talking about the young girls with flowers in their hair at Coachella—wishing to protect them and ask God a question, pondering joy during wartime—that’s why I like it so much too :) it felt like character development, a step forward
