I don’t think I’ve read a single review in my 10 years of stanning Lana that didn’t mention the way she looks, that didn’t somehow weave into it her misunderstood comments taken out of context that have absolutely nothing to do with the music, or judge her in the light of other artists before her time OR her contemporaries, (who they would force comparisons upon). It is indeed dark, but just a game. You just gotta see through it. A positive review is always welcome, but don’t make it more than what it is. The music always speaks for itself in the end, and the true genius behind it always continues to do what she does best: keep on keeping on. Just a reminder.

I'm not offended by that review. It's pretty transparent when there's only one glaringly negative review, and it's written by a RYM user, on a site no one really cares about, who looks like this:





It's just all rather... obvious. Sputnik could give Lana a 0 and she'd still be in Universal Acclaim on Metacritic. It doesn't matter. And I'm pretty sure him scrubbing his own photos from the internet prior to posting the review has nothing to do with his review, lol.

Lana is the only artist where no matter what she puts out I love it. I truly am so grateful I found her all those years ago. Her music has enriched my life so deeply and it was meant to be.

Lana is not infallible and rightfully deserved some of the pushback she got for microaggressions and putting her foot in her mouth this past year, but I agree, the reviews should focus on the music and not her past or persona.

After having the album on repeat since yesterday I’ve got to say this is definitely in my top 3 I’m really enjoying the maturity within it and I think this is a really solid heartfelt album from Lana, I do hope her next album will be produced by someone else though just to spice things up a bit more but jack has done a great job! I also hope she doesn’t go too far country apart from her planned country album but overall I love this album so bloody much!!!
