I mean I am happy that we got at least an update in some form. Sure we won't get Lasso anytime soon, if we get it, but I am happy we didn't get a fake date or a promise that we get sth by the end of the year

But if Lasso takes a while maybe it would be really nice idea to release an EP with some of her favorite album outtakes or release an outtake like  Zodiac. Wouldn't be too much work for her and still sth to tide us over for a while. She could even put unheard unleaked songs even on it or she could give us the covers album.

But realistically I expect nothing for a while which is totally fair(regarding the secret project I'll wait for more concrete news) , if she feels like taking a break she should definitely take one and return with new inspo and motivation one day. When you think about it it is insane how much stuff we got in the last 12 years so we definitely got fed

Overall I am happy too that she is not putting Lasso out just for the sake of having it out or turning it into sth that she sees as half assed and instead takes her time with it to figure things out  (as annoying it is for us fans and hopefully she learned this time to not announce things too early but hope is a dangerous thing)

Regarding the stripped back songs, obv we can't judge them because we have not heard them but we got alot of stripped back songs in the last 5 years so I would not be against her doing a fuller richer sound, or to experiment with a new producer, in fact, I would be really here for that, but on the other hand some of my faves of hers are songs by Jack or stripped back ones (e.g NOTG, Nawal, Kintsugi, Hope, UFB) so I will be fine and excited for them to hear them if she releases the stripped back songs, but as I said we haven't heard them yet. But that is just my personal opinion

And personally I still love Ocean Boulevard alot, she has a huge released und unreleased discography so I personally will be  fine for a while if we have to wait for Lasso or whatever comes next for a longer period. Also there was some good music this year and I am looking forward to Gagas album.
And ultimately this interview definitely helped me to get out of the delulu mode regarding Lasso.

This news is not surprising at this point but I really hope she's paused it because of her own creative desires and not because she got too in her head. I can't help but think after 4 years of slowly working on it she did in fact have something special in hand and now she's overthinking it.

Regardless, let's hope this pause is short lived and something special is on the way in 2025!

Why is she obsessed with following or not following trends all of a sudden  it's like she wanted to put out a country record cause the industry is goin country but now it seems like she's waiting to see if the country era will keep going or just fade away (and I don't even know if she wants the production to match the current trend or go against it)

It feels like she was chasing a bit of a trend with the country phase, but she’s clearly moved past it now. She—and maybe a lot of the entertainment industry—seemed to be anticipating a big wave of country music influence taking over pop culture. Cowboy Carter was a great project and made an impact, but while some other artists jumped on the country bandwagon, I don’t think it ever blew up the way people expected. Maybe that’s just mye being in my own bubble, though.

I’m intrigued at what’s going on behind the scenes or psychologically - there’s such a contrast between the way she talked about Ocean Blvd and how she’s talking about this upcoming record, and I’ve noticed an increasing tentativeness or reluctance in her public disposition over the last year. my guess is that she meant she can’t complete what she originally wanted for the album 
“even if it’s super stripped back I want it to be like what it was supposed to be” 

maybe she had grand plans for the album that she can’t complete so she just compromised on something smaller
