TropicoKitten 5,012 Posted January 11, 2022 Sometimes I feel weird being such a HUGE fan of Lana. There’s lots of celebrities that I like, but I’ve never been this curious/invested in someone’s life before. I’ve done hundreds and hundreds of hours worth of research for various topics that involve her or her life over the years. Sometimes I feel kinda guilty about it, like it’s creepy or something? Of course I know how to respect her privacy/personal life and would never go out of my way to bother her, but it’s just something I think about

PatentLeatherDoOver 25,783 Posted January 12, 2022 I might get dragged for this, but.. Oddly enough, I didn’t like Lana’s music when I was first introduced to two of her songs in my adolescence (Blue Jeans and National Anthem iirc). I don’t remember which song catapulted me into her discography, but I do remember being very fond of Black Beauty early on. I guess it’s a weird song to segue into her music, but yeah! The rest is history 4 Quote “…and this is all I looked for all my life – to be able to give of my love, my spontaneous joy, unreservedly, with no fear of…misuse, betrayal.” Sylvia Plath

I think the first album I fully listened to from Lana was either BTD or Paradise (but more than likely the BTD-Paradise Edition)! what about you?? 1 Quote “…and this is all I looked for all my life – to be able to give of my love, my spontaneous joy, unreservedly, with no fear of…misuse, betrayal.” Sylvia Plath

Liz Taylor Blues 18,743 Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) In my senior year of HS back in the dark ages of 2014/2015 I started listening to Lana. At the time, newly accepting that I was gay I developed a massive embarrassing crush on the hot new guy at school. Like I couldn’t look at him in class even it burned. I know cringe. ( he flirted with me at the post prom party and I like actually almost fainted. Needless to say I did not get lucky lmao) Anyway I lived right near the beach so I used to walk on the beach every day for exercise. And listen to Lana. And yearn for him. Again, II KNOW. My favorites at the time were Born To Die. Mostly I’d listen to video games and blue jeans and maybe dark paradise. Anyway I outgrew that stupid obsessive first gay crush but those songs always remind me of the insanity and power of homoerotic yearnings at 17/18. I cant hear BLUE JEANS without laughing and smiling and maybe okay yeah I see HIM. -funnily enough he’s now a gay porn star. No I will not say which. Good for him. There’s nothing wrong with monetizing being sexy. Edited January 17, 2022 by Leader of The Pack This bish here mispelled hear lmao corrected

It's beautifully written, and I can totally hear her amplifying its murky atmosphere. Part of me wishes she'd dip into something in the vein of Thom Yorke's Dawn Chorus in the future, but I will not allow myself to get my hopes up for that lol Pyramid Song is awesome, that would be a dream. Radiohead’s pursuit was a bit relentless, but I remember like she said they were a one-hit-wonder or something, which made me uncomfortable a bit since they’re one of the greatest bands ever. Dawn Chorus… can’t even imagine how wonderful that would be.
