i don't think she announces dates just for the hell of it. a curveball was thrown when she went thru a break up and had to rethink the album/its themes etc. it's understandable for me anyway

Still trying to wrap my mind around how someone can publicly announce a release date for an album whilst very well aware it wont be the case yet alone be taken seriously by anyone after the whole COTCC release date fiasco that had just happened the day before and still do so knowing all this 

Hi all, Just popping in to say I've officially knocked this thread back to a Pre-Pre-Release Thread, which means when we have more concrete information such as a certain release date, I will lock this thread and create a new Pre-Release Thread. This is what we typically do for releases as you all may recall, but because she announced this album so quickly with seemingly a title and date, we went straight to Pre-Release. Since it appears there's still going to be some time until more concrete information comes out, this will now serve as the Pre-Pre-Release Thread for the upcoming album's discussion.

Lana literally evolved the most between BTD and PAradise and Ultraviolence and even Honeymoon, all those albums sound wildly different from one another, I’m not saying I want her to make another record with “that same old sound” I want her to reignite the fire she used have under her ass that got her to create entirely new soundscapes every era for those first few years
 
Using less and less instrumentation with a less larger sound and basing everything around a piano is not “evolving”, it’s being stagnant 
 
 

It‘s funny that she clearly doesnt care about things like chart success or money, but it only takes one (favourable) interview from Ann Powers to pull out the typewriter 

I just realized that every album of hers feature reworked scrapped songs from other projects/albums:
 
BTD: Diet Mtn Dew, National Anthem/I Want it All and Lolita (these are from the pre-LDR era/Lizzy Grant era)

Ultraviolence: Old Money/Metaphetamines and maybe Black Beauty (from the original UV concept with AFFA, JFK, Hollywood, Starry Eyed)
 
Honeymoon: 24 (from the Bond soundtrack), Beautiful People and Say Yes to Heaven (reworked for HM but scrapped again)
 
Lust for Life: Beautiful People Beautiful Problems
 
Norman Fucking Rockwell: TNBAR/Architecture and California
 
COCC: Let Me Love You Like a Woman, Not All Who Wander Are Lost/Wanderlust and Yosemite

Usually I’m also like “No more unreleased!! New music pls” but……………. i don’t even trust that new music to be interesting, so please fill it to the brim with unreleased as long as they’re not changed too much. I’d rather have an album of unreleased than an album of…. those.

I'm feeling the single end of August, album mid October. 
 
And then maybe the long-desired album of 25 unreleased tracks to celebrate Born To Die's 10 year anniversary

Releasing in January has never been the industry’s strong suit because it’s the slowest month of the year in terms of sales as those albums tend to be forgotten very soon. It worked for BTD because it was a first album with a lot of successful or talked-about singles beforehand (and even then, it didn’t peak to number 1). Though it would be a beautiful homage to release BB near the 10-year anniversary of BTD, the album would get very much unnoticed I’m afraid.
and on a personal note, I want the damn thing sooner than that :p

I want to be delulu and just imagine Lana giving us "Vevo Live Sessions" just like Ariana is doing with positions and Billie with the singles she has released... It'd be fun tbh.

It really feels like Lana wasn’t proud of COTCC, otherwise why would she ruin that era by announcing another album.  Especially after what a rocky roll out COTCC had been with delays and false cancelled projects (American standards ?  Summertime ?).   She’s definitely made it hard to stay engaged with these last few years.

This cycle is mild torture :
a post album-related / release every 20-ish days… 
first week is exciting, the second one is okay but entering the third one without news is just so dull, boring and so frustrating

now we’ve had two fake release dates, a ‘soonish’ release date for a single and a ‘later later/TBD’ date for the album 

this is boring we were supposed to get a summer album

I hope we get a really bitchy song out of this, though

I'm not really that much into talking about a celebs orivate life/ relationship but just to speak generally - maybe it would be more healthy to just be single for a while instead of running a relay race from one boyfriend to the next. I get that it's hard for some people to not have a lover, but if you never really take time to calm down, process feelings, focus on yourself etc. there is a pretty high chance you won't be able to naintain a stable relationship with a new person.
