she turned out to be so different from who she appeared to be back in the day and it's so sad. she got too pretentious about her art, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but girllllllll, you're doing everything wrong! just make your albums, have a normal rollout like every other pop girl and move on. enough with the expensive films, horrendous perfume bottles, overpriced cheap jewerly, nfts... wtf girl. make GOOD music and goooo.

i hate when celebrities undermine their own wealth. idek especially in times like this in America where the wealth gap is rising horrendously it just feels like a cop out-“i have to pay my bills too!” well yes of course, but you have so much more wealth to your name than many other Americans today, a HUGE house (thats going for sale so maybe a downsize) and an established name. it’s not like we’re supporting a small business. she can make more money if she tries hard enough- but Portals will probably not make that happen. P.S who the hell wants that alien creature perfume bottle fr.

Maybe it is time to put the stand cards away like the siren said 

Maybe she should put less effort into being all artsy fartsy and spend more time learning how to manage her finances and investing her money properly. It’s like you can tell she doesn’t know how to market herself anymore. She’s way to stubborn and over ambitious; yet, it’s gotten her nowhere sadly. 

I've been a fan of melanie since 2016, and have followed her career for a long time. I used to love her, but I'm kind of over her now. The only reason I am still sort of tuning into her is because of my friend, and because portals have a couple great songs. She feels super passive aggressive to me when she talks to fans recently, it's rubbing me the wrong way. A specific example I'm thinking of is when she commented on this girl's post about Oliver Tree, saying that the song wasn't about him- but in a very rude way. Earlier that day, she had also added an insta story about it too, but not about that specific song or any song in general tbh. Everyone started attacking the fans(even though everyone thought the same thing) and Melanie has been here long enough to know that her fans are capable of doing that. I still am iffy about the whole timothy situation as well, but I'm not going to dwell on it right now. I'm not sure if anyone will care about my two cents, but here it is.

it's giving when people raised concerns that the Cry Baby era spent a little too much time sexualizing its preschool-aged characters and being inappropriate with its subject matter (which is even more true after K-12 and songs like "Wheels on the Bus"), and Melanie's response was a salty post like "you just don't GET it"

The tracks that leaked prior to the album gave me hope , it’s mostly the visuals that are ruining the era imo. 
 
Dragon’s Blood, Mother of Pearl, Fingers Crossed and the other Death deserved to be released.

ikr so much wasted potential, so sad to think about what it could've been if melanie played her cards right, always can hope mm4 will make up for this mess

She should have just sat there and ate her food. Like be quiet. Between the random “I’m poor” videos and this, we’re inching back closer to the 2020 period. We need another yeehaw flop album like ChemTANKS/Blue TANKisters to complete the trifecta.
 
Her mind, it amazes me sometimes. She said I can’t be loved too much, gotta do something stvpid to tarnish myself quick. The Grammys are also coming. Hopefully Ben takes her Instagram away during awards season so she won’t do something stvpid on social media.
 
Honestly, the best time was when she deactivated her Instagram. She is so painfully uninformed, and it SHOWS. It’s better for her to not engage and just stay quiet.

ughhh i’m so tired of this disingenuous argument, this conversation always comes up because charli struggles to be receptive to negative feedback and makes it everyone else’s problem. it has nothing to do with seeing her as a “vessel” or being “miserable” or whatever you’re talking about… i’ve been a fan for over a decade and i have enjoyed most of what she’s released, crash for example is completely generic and i love it. the vast majority of artists i listen to are not hyperpop, i’m capable of enjoying other music. in my opinion in the city is just not a good song;  the melody is boring, the writing is boring, it’s not good. it wouldn’t be any better if it were pcm. she’s got dozens of leaks with even weaker production that don’t even have lyrics, just 3 minutes of mumbling and nonsense and they still manage to be catchier than this. stop parrotting this point about how everyone hates anything that’s not beep bop boop when in reality it’s just because people think the music is bad. if you like the song then cool other people are entitled to disagree. moving on

I binge-watched all her music videos on YouTube yesterday and listened to the entire Flux album today. It all sounds very innovative and intriguing to me so far! 

She needs to stop with these Anne Marie/Zara Larsson/Jess Glynne songs, Dirty Sexy Money was the most palatable but when she does these songs it’s so  like?? You’re better than this Charles

It’s not necessarily bad but I just can’t help but feel bored listening to it. I could get behind the Welcome to My Island remix but this just feels like it goes nowhere and like anyone could have sung it. Can she please take some creative inspiration from Caroline?
