I can’t believe the reaction this has got from some people. The ads come up kinda often for me but I simply click close and move on with my life. Same as I do with youtube etc etc. We all use this site for free. It’s a minor inconvenience to help Elle keep up with the costs. Clearly, a lot of work and personal finances goes into this site and she was kind enough to explain the ads and ask for opinions from everyone which she really didn’t have to do.
 
Bottom line for me is they’re bearable and i’m more than happy to put up with it to help fund and recoup the costs of a site I’ve been using for years. I will admit though I can only speak as someone who browses a few times a week to a maximum of once a day- not someone who posts and uses it multiple times a day.

I'm sorry, again I'm really really really trying my hardest to keep my composure here and not come off in any sort of way, but it was extremely inappropriate of you to speculate my expenses, which by the way, have been made up of things I've bought over the past 9 years. Just because in the past I was able to comfortably buy some things does not mean it has always been that way, or is still that way. Also, a cumulation of things bought over the span of 9 years isn't really a concrete display of my current state - especially given the times we're in. I'm a human, I have debt. Aside of LanaBoards related things that people may request to know, are my personal debts/expenses really anyone's business? No. So, respectfully, please do not speculate on them.
Furthermore, I opened the floor on this matter to gather opinions rather than making a decision without consulting you all first (which I totally could have done by the way and would have had every right to, but I did not feel comfortable doing so.) This wasn't me being desperate for cash or begging for donations, this was me recognising a good opportunity for the site so I wouldn't have to pay as much out of pocket for the site. But I wanted opinions from those who make the community what it is.
I'm not rich. Far from it. & while I willingly pay for this site and will continue to do so no matter what, I just wanted to gather opinions on the possibility of generating more revenue to go into the site - not to profit from.
I believe there was a more respectful way to share your opinion against the vignette ads. If you have any further thoughts that are related to my personal matters, you are free to DM me to discuss further. I also apologise for being so candid here, I tried to bite my tongue on this, but I just really felt this was very inappropriate given what this is all about x

I'm trying really hard to keep my composure here, but I just want to say that speculating on people's expenses or debts is really not nice and has struck me in a weird way. For that reason, I've removed my response detailing exactly how much it costs to run this site. Dont know what Lana's weight has to do with this thread, anyway, a good chance to discuss what is certainly an important topic. Lana is a human being, human beings gain and loose weight, they age, they have psychologically amazing moments and mental health struggles as well. The fact that she's working at an industry thats absolutely brutal regarding image doesnt mean that she doesnt undergo the same processes as everyone, and she has all the right to. If she's going through a bad mental phase (which we all happen to at our own ways), dont think that the discussion should have to focus on how much her weight varies because of that, but on how good it would be for her to get well as soon as possible, regardless of her losing (or gaining) weight on the meanwhile. Fatphobia is a terrible thing and I think that this forum is full of very critical and smart people that have already made their points about the issue. I want to think there's no place here for toxic celebrity culture (bodyshaming included), so actually glad that this is being discussed.
