    Finally I attained the holy grail of my vinyl collection:



    the 12" picture disc version of Blue Jeans!

    I'll admit I already owned the 7" picture disc, so I know this is greedy, but I have been wanting this vinyl for about 5 years now and finally decided to pay out for it. Though at least it didn't cost as much as I was expecting, compared to Discogs listings and all that. Its so pretty!  Though it's missing the track-listing sticker on the front, which is a shame, but oh well.

    To me, White Dress has a staying power and is truly up there with West Coast, Venice Bitch, Shades of Cool, Mariners Apartment Complex, and Hope is a Dangerous Thing as Lana songs that remain untouchable. Wow.
     
    This whole record is just outstanding and gets even better with each listen (as if that’s even possible)!

    Hi, this is my first time starting a topic (took me a good while to figure out how to share photos on here, haha), but I just wanted to share something I made recently: I got a myself a custom lyrics book printed for Ultraviolence as it has always bothered me that the official one doesn't include the full lyrics. I designed it using Photoshop and I know it's nothing fancy but I really enjoyed putting it all together and I'm pleased with how it has come out. (Want to add a quick thanks to everyone in the Resources thread for researching and sharing all the official fonts they could find. That thread was seriously so helpful! Oh, and the Lyrics thread, obviously very useful as well.)

    I'm currently working on a second book for Honeymoon, using a lot more of my own photos this time. I've nearly finished it, just need to work a few more things out but I'll update this post when I'm done and it arrives.

    Anyway, feel free to critique/tell me ways I can improve on any elements for next time, I know some of the black and white photos didn't print so well so I'm trying to avoid using those in the future. Really pleased I finally found a company that prints images on the spine though, so the spine matches the front cover.

    I'm not 100% sure about this, maybe you can ask the contact service but I read somewhere that the UK has recently stopped asking for/generating taxes to/from European orders during 2021 and that they will re-start charging import/export charges again 2022.

    Just got my candle today!!
    It has a very light, fresh floral scent to it. It came with no scent description so that's the best I can do, but I literally love it so much!

    It's also important to keep in mind that Best doesn't always been Favourite. So, you sort of need to look at the list objectively. But pretty much since Hope's release, I've acknowledged that it is technically her best song. That doesn't mean it's necessarily my favourite (it's in my top 20 though) but there's so many elements of the song that really make it a true masterpiece, and nothing less.
    It's her best song lyrically - hands down, no contest. Her vocals are incredible. She perfectly executes beautiful high & low notes that display her range. Not many artists can do this in the way she does. The melody is just beautiful and simple enough for anyone to digest, yet not too simple that its boring or forgettable.  The production complements the song just perfectly. I know the production is a reason why some people don't like the song as it comes off a bit too simple or "boring" for some, but the song speaks such volumes on its own - it could have been an acapella track and been just as powerful. For this track, the production enhances rather than defines the song, and that's a true tell sign of a masterpiece song. A heavier production would have just drowned it and took away from its delicacy and specialness.  The song is incredibly emotive. I'm a strong believer that those who don't like hope just haven't been in the situation the song is about. Once you've been in that place - feeling like you've gone crazy and that all hope you had for the world has slipped like sand through your fingers, all the way to the point where you're no longer building a house out of that sand anymore but a house out of rediscovered hope - you understand this song. You become a part of it. I intend to write like a whole essay-post on why this song is her best one day and post it in the Hope thread or something, but for now, those are my brief thoughts x
