I don't know what they're expecting tbh. Even with all the TikTok hype Coconuts didn't pull any numbers out of the ordinary for Kim.
 
If they wanted to play the waiting game & try to expand Kim's market, they shouldn't have announced an album that will probably most likely not come out until Summer 2022.

this label contract really fucked her up… she used to be so much more consistent in her releases when she was independent

tbh. why do we care if she has a heavy hand in production or songwriting. like…? she makes good music and we like listening to it, it’s not that deep, who cares 
 
we know she CAN do those things and she’s good at it, but at this point in her career i think she’s more than allowed to let other people do things

I thought solar power would've grown on me more by now but with time I started liking it less. I don't think it's a terrible album, I'd still put it on as background noise, but it's just so bland. Especially when you compare it to her last 2 albums. Like, it really has nothing going for it. I remember listening to it for the first time being so excited about the bridge of Fallen Fruit cause it had a beat lol, that's so sad. The Path also started out beautifully, an amazing way to start an album, but then halfway through the song just turns into Herbalife the musical.. I didn't expect her to top Melodrama, but I just expected more.
 
& People can go on and on with their "this is a weed album, it's meant to be boring. you can't relate to it cause it's happy. your brain is too small to understand that acoustic guitar is far superior than synths!" but that really won't make the album any less boring lol. Going from an album as good as Melodrama to this is just tragic. Solar Power was a big disappointment.

can she just give us a halloween or darkpop album. we all know it’s what she thrives at and enjoyed doing and is actually passionate about. 
like every time she tries to do an album run with this this bland version of a katy perry song to appease her label it is so boringgggg the footage of her performing live (except for vma preshow) is so tragically embarrassing for her it was bad. when held next to her tour footage it’s so sad… she’s out here in some tj maxx leggings with a bunch of 30 year old men clacking “yaws kimmyyyy”

I wonder how much this album has changed since pre-covid cause back then when she released Malibu she seemed ready to release more songs (Such as Tropical) and it seemed back then as if Malibu was supposed to be the lead until they couldn't film a proper music video and then she just left it flop

i don't......... want to say this. 
because i really like her music a lot. she is the 4th most played artist in my library.
and also because i make music myself and would hate if someone questioned the quality of my music declining when it should do the opposite.
 
but coconuts is a really really bad song lmao., lyrically. sounds fine and whatever sonically. 
but those lyrics are....... not fun or clever or cute. very cringe inducing.
and it could have been fun and great and unique. it just sounds half-baked. much like FSN and the KimKimKim leak. 
 
i don't get the equation of new label + longest recording process she's undergone yet = this 5th debut album era.
i love her to death, her talent is unquestionable, and even a great songwriter and live performer.
but if this is trying to be a teenage dream, it's a grown man's (mine) nightmare
 

i've always thought ctmp is the perfect opening to the album. it's basically opens the album inviting people to come party with charli. it's the perfect opener 

ppl that think it’s cute and different to not have CTMP as the opening & ATAP as the ending…. when you start a book do you skip to chapter 4 first and then read the prologue afterwards?? do you read the epilogue before you’ve finished the story??? DIDNT THINK SO.

we have no idea what the original sounds like and honestly the lyrics are very reminiscent of 80s synth pop. 

Its so funny to watch the same 5 people come in here every 6 months, its kind of pathological how many times they pop in here to be mad
