I’d be lying if I said I was excited by a joe Biden presidency, but I’m pleased that it’s not Donald Trump. 

Yes, the main character in the novel is a pedophile and incredibly flawed, but this is never seen as acceptable (besides Humbert's desperate attempts to persuade the reader, and it works on some..). Nabokov is a beautiful writer, and the book is held in high regard because of his writing style and prose.
 
The subject matter is definitely not for the faint of heart. It is uncomfortable and infuriating, and that is the point of the novel. It is certainly taboo, but it is so well written and developed that it is a shame to skip it.

not even going to quote the horrible takes on this thread anymore. as a nurse that works in the (crowded) COVID unit and has held the hands of countless elderly people dying from yes, COVID, I do not think there’s anyway to justify Lana doing this. just admit that you don’t care about the lives of other people and try not sugar coating it. yes, the elderly are the ones mainly affected by COVID; they are still human beings. your actions affect not only them, but the people like me who work on the frontlines that have to deal with your irresponsible actions. do better.

I really hope she refrains from doing the same thing with Iron Gates; it's much more exciting when you get a book and you haven't already read most of it.
I would like to see original art and more handwritten content than there is in this one, in the next one. Also, I would absolutely love if she put some lyrics from COCC in Iron Gates, complete with handwritten corrections, etc. That'd be really interesting and give an insight into her songwriting process.

ETA: Also because I know she reads here, if she really does have any hand-bound copies from before she decided to use a publisher, she should have a raffle. Make everyone make a $10 donation to a cause to enter, and you can win a signed, hand-bound copy.
I say raffle and not auction because we all know certain rich af stans would bid thousands of dollars and leave the rest of us out of the running.

I do like unapologetic lana but I hope she doesn't let that ego get ahead of her and with this interview we can now see the kinda dynamic she has with Jack and why she's continued to collab with him lmao...a true yes man till the end! imo jack is REALLY not good for her artistry, yes man never are he's just there to stroke her ego and tell her she's the bestest.
