Honestly IT'S WHATEVER, the album art will not affect how much I listen to, but if she was gunna do this up close self portrait thing i really wish she would channel Joan Baez and do some of this

It’s not even a matter of being political or being outspoken it’s that she’s not actually saying anything in her songs just name dropping issues and problems we have like yes they exist we know it wanna say something of significance next time??
 
like saying sexism exists women are discriminated is not activism it’s just saying things 

i think this album could be "revenge" in the sense that she's being completely honest and unapologetic about her struggles, the media has always slammed her for talking about heavy topics in her music, for having "daddy issues", and how she potrays herself as a woman, in text book, she talks about her "daddy issues" yet she isn't talking about it in a way where she feels ashamed, it's like she's saying "yeah, maybe i do have daddy issues, sometimes i had a strained or unfulfilling relationship with my father, that's just the way it is" or in wildflower wildfire, which talks about her very strained relationship with her mother, where she's recalling what she's been through, but it ends in a very cathartic way, where she's saying "yeah, this woman has put me through hell, yet i've learned from it" i think her unapologetic honesty and her drive for catharsis is her revenge, but i wouldn't doubt that ldr9 will talk about these topics as well

I actually love how all these songs remind me of Hope is a dangerous thing... that song is one of my favorites for its sheer honesty and bittersweet melody... just came to realize just how great WW lyrics are.. and Blue banisters is so damn sad.. it’s kinda like realizing life goes on and some wounds just can’t seem to heal. It’s like everyone is happy and moving on but Lana still can’t seem to see past much.. no matter how optimistic she is.. kinda reminds me of the never ending heartbreak and suffering frida khalo endured until her end days.. sad shit

agree, but for me, I actually don't think they're mellow at all. the emotional depth to them are just gut-wrenching. it's just that the orientation of her music is less external now and more self-oriented and others may just find that less dynamic. but it's absolutely mystical and also very much a true realm/ world that others don't often dip into. it's personally riveting for me, like yes let's explore tell me ur secrets and I'll keep them with you. 

can someone remind me again why people care so much about that pretentious bald headed guy’s opinion on music ?

Madonna posting stories with candies and now captioning BLUE on the instagram. I know the colobration rumours are just rumours but I believe she and Lana probably encountered during the studio sessions, and that's when Lana started to follow her back. Madonna is hanging out with Mike Dean, Sage Skofield and Sean Solymar for her tour's sound mixing.

The way this album is going to be her Blackout... a fiery, cult-status record that stays true to the artist’s style but adds an electronic twist  and just so happens to be written partly in response to negative press  

I want songs that question life/existing.
Songs that tear u into pieces.
Songs which rip apart ur soul and make you breathless and breakdown !!!
 
Like wait for life/TG/Hope/Ride/TBD/OLD MONEY.

She looks gorgeous in the video and I love the TFJ-esque sound...but the lyrics do not do it for me at all. I wish she'd step away from the cringey mid-2010s pop feminism in her lyrics, especially since I know she's capable of much more poignant and powerful writing, even in her satiric songs. Like she could've done so much more with this witchy anti-patriarchal theme without being so basic about it lyrically tbh. I'll just go listen to Buy the Stars and Numb  . I'm not hating as I've loved her for a literal decade...just disappointed.
