Picasso is famous for his "blue period," so she's not really comparing herself to him, but wants to show that sadness played an important role in his artistic life. Being sad and singing about it can produce something beautiful. Also, as one of the most important singer-songwriters of our time, I think she has the right to make this comparison.

hi everyone!! wow, 6 days and almost 146 pages late to the party!!  i've been so busy so i've not been able to log into LB much (the internet servers at work don't let me ) but needless to say i've been listening to BB a TONNE and honestly..... im so happy with how much i love it  here's my current thoughts, ordered from most fave to least fave, definitely subjec to change though!
