I'm so happy they finally got the chance to release it after 10 years of being sabotaged. This is definitely their best work (or maybe on par with Three) and it was a disgrace that they've not been able to share it with the world before.
2022 have definitely been the year of their return and I can't wait to see what they have in store for 2023 with a proper new release.

I was really saddened when love in stereo was given to Bananarama but I wasn't really disappointed by it missing on the tracklist because I knew it was no longer theirs to use. Appart from that I think the tracklist was perfect and flowed better than the one that supposedly leaked earlier (see spoiler).

If it's true, I think that both songs being missing allowed Metal heart and Beat has gone to be on the regular edition which I think was mandatory because they are the emotional centerpieces of the album.

And I agree, the version of Back in the day with the sample is the best and I love the more sophisticated drum beat.

They do. I think they released the album using their own money so that the fans could enjoy the work properly.  Thank you girls. I truly fell in love with them during the MKS era (even if I've been liking them since Overload), so I'm happy that it's finally out there.

idk i'm fine with her saying what she said in the tweets, i understand it. i feel like the streaming age has caused fans to go crazy with expectations from artists. whenever she feels like putting out music is fine with me, i'm not dying for new stuff from her or anyone really.

The Lost Tapes is fucking great and i hope the strong charting gives the girls the chance to release a brand new album in 2023.

    An update for anyone interested.

They were at Glastonbury and there attracted so so many people that entry to Avalon Stage had to be closed. A festival first apparently.

Flatline, their first single since they reunited was rereleased under the Sugababes name this year. It didn't get the attention it deserved in 2013 because there was much confusion about the band's name (people called them MKS or Sugababes while they were Mutya Keisha Siobhan at the time). Now that they won back their name it's only justice for Flatline to be retconed as Sugababes song. It is an instant classic. It got great reviews at the time.

I definitely agree They are the best lineup. Individually they are each better singers than their replacement (in my opinion) but what strikes the most is the heavenly harmonies these 3 bring. There's a chemestry that can't be replicated.
This interpretation of Caught in a moment is the best exemple. Siobhan is replacing Heidi's parts here. She's literally replacing her replacement and it works so much. I think it's way better than the original version.

And yes the songs they recorded during the MKS era was really good. It's too bad they never got to release it because of the fight for the name and the leak. The 50 songs that leaked are among the best Sugababes songs. A double album with the best songs from the leak and new songs would be great.

Such a fun song. I think it is a classic for fans too. Maybe not as much as more Alt Pop songs such as Freak Like Me.

It's funny because I saw the Lizzy Grant Sugarbaby EP topic appear on the main page when I was going to update this post. I believe that their manager called them Sugarbabies before they choose Sugababes as their band's name.

    THANK YOU.

I'm so frustrated because Britney never was or has been "crazy." The media and the conservatorship portrayed her that way because it made them money. Everything that she has done that appears "crazy" is understandable with context, and I think many people wouldn't have fared any better or even survived what she has. The conservatorship had NO medical reason to justify it.

So when I see people immediately jumping to "she's unwell" and "she needs help" just because she's dancing in her living room, I get so angry. She just lost 15 years of her life to abuse. I expected her to make mistakes and to be upset and to be emotional because she's been through hell and back and hasn't had the freedom to make these mistakes before. And all these people claimed that they learned from how Britney was treated in the 2000s and that we're better now as a society. Yet, here people are, immediately jumping to the misogynistic and patronizing "she's unwell" because she shares her emotion and her trauma and dances in her living room.

She’s an adult woman who is making her own decisions. Just because it’s not what you like and what you deem is appropriate does not mean you have any right to assess her well-being, her mental state, intervene in her life, or tell her what to do. She’s not your Barbie doll popstar to play with and care for. It seems like a lot of “fans” didn’t actually want to #FreeBritney, they just thought if they helped her, she’d be the perfect popstar and source of entertainment for them again. They aren’t actually interested in who she really is as a person or what’s actually best for her, just the image of her that they had in their minds. And when she doesn't fit that image, it's a conspiracy.

And I'm not saying that Britney can do no wrong. There are posts of hers I don't like or agree with. But the point is I understand where she's coming from and I view her posts with empathy for what she's been through and who she is. Again, I expected her to make mistakes because who wouldn't in her situation? I'm just happy that she's been so willing to share things with us after YEARS of silence and communication controls from her conservatorship. I agree that Britney isn't doing well in the sense of the trauma that she's experienced and having to process right now, but again, I think anyone would in her situation and would even fare worse. What I hate is the armchair psychologists, the conspiracy theorists, and the fake fans who immediately just start calling her crazy because she doesn't fit the perfect image they had of her in their brains. And she even told us that she wants to be feared because being too nice got her hurt, that she wants to upset people and basically give a big "fuck you" to all the expectations set on her, and yet, y'all still aren't listening.

Anyone else ear an interpolation of The Greatest during the Chorus ? After all they did sample How to disappear in Wild at heart.

@Barry Isn't it the song you think about ? The Greatest sounded pretty much Beatle-y to me

i think Lana is enjoying leaning back into what things were like before she blew up, by being able to go to Nikki Lane’s much more stripped back / quieter shows kind of reminding her of her times singing in bars and stuff

plus I get the vibe that Lana probably feels comfort in having someone as a friend who’s also a performer but isn’t out for fame, just living life etc etc
