Nah, The pre NFR era was miserable. The first songs we got were already a year old by the time the album was released. She teased us so much it gave her fans blue balls. Plus then we also had the mindset of, damn we’ve heard what most of the album is going to sound like and etc. I rather know nothing, than to know so much to when the album is released there’s almost barely anything new. I mean, we had people already disappointed and dissatisfied with the album months before it actually came out. They already wanted her to move onto the next album lol. This era has been way easier. It would have been better had she not mentioned it a few days after she put out NFR. I guess. No one would be feeling impatient or anything like that.

I’m all for her being the industry bad girl again, but the second her name got attached to racism and blue lives matter, my heart sank. Cause I know she isn’t (well I don’t believe she is) but that stigma will never ever go away. And it hasn’t. Every time a pic of her pops up it’s a viral tweet with “oooh Karen Del Rey!! To me this wait is NOTHING compared to NFR. NFR was torture. We heard songs more than a year before the album release lol.

I actually think Lust for Life is a lot more cohesive than people give it credit for. The "lack of cohesion" and the changing vibes is the message of the album for me. It's about a woman who doesn't really know who she is or where her place in the world is, but her desire for happiness has her following different paths and people with the hope of finding something real to hold onto, but her approach relies too heavily on others. Halfway through the album she starts to think on a larger scale and slowly but surely reaches a point by the end of the album where she's learned enough about herself and her lust for life to move down a new path, out of the black and into the blue.

Okay I retract everything I said before, I listened with headphones this time, it was an amazing pop record, we will be streaming when it comes out.

Do you think Marina watched Lana's video about mentioning certain alt girls and thought it was about her or do you think Marina dmed her about the entire situation to give her two cents and Lana wasn't having it?
