its actually crazy that this era is like ... a real era lmao. like this is the first time since sucker that we get a real album rollout with singles (that are actually cohesive), artwork, videos, tour dates, preorder, etc where it wasnt all haphazardly done last minute.. we had to celebrate

He’s def an asshole I don’t like him but I just really don’t care enough to listen to (imo) an inferior version of the album so money goes to millionaire 1 instead of millionaire 2. Said this before already but they got enough money it really doesn’t matter lol. She’s taking ownership of her work & I think that’s great, most of her fans are gonna stream the re-recordings anyway so she’ll be fine if I don’t jshdjf.

This whole album has been a masterpiece since day one so it's lovely to see people coming around  The legacy of Chemtrails will continue to grow forever

Same here! Yosemite is my favorite song on Chemtrails, so you can imagine my shock when so many people didn't like it  It's so beautifully intimate. The lyrics, although simple, hold a lot of emotion in them where you know Lana means exactly what she's singing. It doesn't need to have extravagant, metaphorical lyrics for it to get the feelings across. Waiting for Chemtrails to release this song was such a good choice - it fits into the album perfectly

I've been saying that Chemtrails is the next Honeymoon in terms of fan reception (hated by most at first, but eventually becomes a fan favorite)

i have to say i love how much of the later posts in the thread are positive re-evaluations of this album. i'm def a COCC fangirl, and while i love BB, COCC has had a much bigger emotional, thoughtful impact on me (at least as of now). i agree with many others who've noted that COCC will, like HM, prob gain appreciation over time and so many of these updates prove it's so. NFR was an impossible album to follow up and she really went her own way and made the record she wanted/needed to make instead of treading water.

Returning to Chemtrails after hammering BB for weeks, and it sounds AMAZING. Warm and gentle and beautiful.

One thing I wasn't prepared for was how much Chem now feels like a Covid-era album. The pre-release was a huge emotional crutch throughout 2020, and now I specifically associate the music with that segment of time from October 2020 when LMLYLAW released until the tringle in May. We were still basically locked down, and it was endless hours in my apartment listening to COCC over and over.

COCC songs will always remind me of those long days and all the emotions they contained.

i was JUST watching a live video of carmen from 2012 and thinking about how good it is. along with dark paradise it's the only song i listen to from BTD– in addition to all the things you noted, i also think we can hear so much of the artist lana would become in this particular song vs. the rest of the BTD (shades of honeymoon and the jazzier elements of UV)..
