she's actually posting about the poetry more than i thought she would which is fine i'm glad she's enjoying herself,, but this might mean it'll be a bit longer before she starts actually talking about COCC. probably a few more videos of her reading her poems then we'll get to hear/see something from the album

I thought the AOTY nom for NFR was like... an example of what she meant??? because it’s so different from her other albums/themes/perspectives, which normally do get heavily criticized. she made an album without those and got praised, which is wonderful of course but I bet she was feeling that it was unfair. I know a lot of people on here call NFR her most personal album, but to me it felt very bland and unlike anything we’ve really heard from her narrative wise, so it was hard for me to see it as authentic when she has years of music proving otherwise lol. Idk if Lana feels the same way, obviously there’s a degree of authenticity in everything she does but to me it just seemed like she was pointing out that this kind of proved she has to act a certain way if she wants praise

I don't think Lana will really care much about negative reviews... Born To Die is her most successful work and is at 65(?) on Metacritic
 
I do think it is ironic that she was complaining about 'unfair criticism' of her in May 2020 instagram post... when she literally just had a universally acclaimed album that was nominated for AOTY. Perception is everything I guess... 

I just know Tulsa Jesus Freak is going to be a song defending her love of Sean and I’m going to hate that it still sounds nice.

this is why i hope she doesn't hold back on the album. if it's the most pure and innocent music ever or something rebellious she'll get ripped to shreds either way so she might as well say whatever she wants at this point

That post was turned into something it wasn't. Some critics will see that, others won't. It's ignorant to claim she's racist based on that post anyway. She just named big artists, it had nothing to do with skin colour so idk how anyone will make her out to be racist in a music review. That would be so stupid. The FKA Twigs comparison she made was a bit misinformed but aside from that everything she said was fine.

I think that White Hot Forever and Tulsa Jesus Freak might be two lead singles (especially that it is not the first time we hear about "White Hot Forever"). Lana for sure does love double premieres (SB and GL, VB and MAC, FIILY and TG)

She announced Norman exactly 1 month (31st of July) before the release. Lets pray for this August 5th!

Do you think the fact that instrumental was Quiet Waiter Blue Forever could be significant? I was looking at the titles and realized Quiet Waiter Blue Forever is a very similarly styled title to Tulsa Jesus Freak: White Hot Forever so I wonder if that could be a hint. Both start by signifying a person “Quiet Waiter” “Tulsa Jesus Freak” and the second parts have the obvious colour and forever parallel “Blue Forever” “White Hot Forever”. Idk what could be similar other than their titles but I just thought it was an interesting parallel.
