Another Weyes Blood collab would be cool, imagine A Lot's Gonna Change meets Honeymoon, produced by Emile Haynie and Rick Nowels.

honestly i was a little tired of the born to die album for a while but recently i've been OBSESSED  it's so flawlessly produced, the vocals & lyrics are gorgeous... i love the evocative, summery feel of the album as well... i could truly never stop loving lana del rey... i always find myself obsessed somehow... she speaks to me like nobody else really could...  i saw a post i made a while back saying i didn't really like that album as much and i can't believe i said that honestly

tbh the lyrics are the only good thing about WW and the “hot fire hot weather hot coffee im better” line..... im sorry. i just really hoped mike wouldve done better with that song bc lana was flawless its just the production that needs help.

i can’t stop listening to sour it’s truly the best album of the year so far

Honestly, yeah. The discussion could go round in circles and I just think it’s evil that powerful industry figures are allowing Olivia to be a scapegoat for money. You’re right though, Courtney should know better than to call out Olivia publicly when it most likely isn’t her fault (if there is even fault to be had).

ive also never really looked at imagery as plagiarism, it’s a much different experience than listening.

Wasn't Sour Prom took from Carrie? Courtney didn't invent the crying beauty queen. Other artists used the same concept before and after Courtney. It's not as original as the Houses of Holy for example (even that wasn't original. It was inspired by a book).

She's an adult and Olivia is an insecure teen. The best way of solving this would have been calling her team on private and even sue if she was so sure that this an original concept.

She credited Taylor and Jack for sampling New Year's Day and I believe that she should also have credited Paramore.

I think Olivia doesn't get much artistic direction to be honest. Her album was very quickly rushed, and she's very young. She probably has most things chosen for her and she just says yes/no to them, if even that. So, I can see why it looks cruel for Courtney to go after such a young girl but the issue needs to be called out that a major label is pushing a young artist for a cash grab and in the meantime is stealing other people's work.

I feel bad for Olivia but also for the other artists who have had their art ripped off by the label writing & producing songs for Olivia.

Wow. It's been months since I've been on here. So much has happened!  I had what they call "long Covid" and also had surgery and the recovery was complicated and took awhile, but I am back! I hope everyone on here is doing well! So much has happened &  am trying to catch up on! Lana released 3 singles, someone named Olivia Rodrigo is dominating the charts, Clayton & Lana apparently split up, Chuck had a baby, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross produced Halsey's upcoming album, and we possibly have a new single coming soon from Lana named Arcadia?  I also see awesome new GIFs on here! I am speechless!  There's a lot to catch up on, but I am so glad to be back on here with you all! Blue Banisters is my favorite out of the three songs she recently released. I definitely love the production on it! So dreamy! I'll try not to stray too far off topic on here but I must say I am a bit jealous that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are on Halsey's new album, because I would love nothing more than for those two geniuses to work with Lana!

I agree. Her first album titles were so simple yet filled with ways to interpret them. BTD - it’s a fact that we’ll all die one day, is it a yolo name or a more melancholic meaning to it? Paradise - religious undertones etc. Honeymoon - something romantic and sweet, but knowing Lana, it doesn’t have to be.
Then we got Norman and we were all “huh??” because no one really got it, and then Chemtrails was another long title so many speculated was tied to conspiracy theories (turned out not to be linked to that at all).
To me, Blue Banisters is a meh album title. I never liked Rock Candy Sweet either. Arcadia... eh. I don’t know. If it’s a special place Lana likes to visit, I can buy it, but the word itself has no meaning to me.

Honestly, I've never really paid much attention to Halsey. But with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross at the helm for this new album, I am definitely intrigued. I listened to the snippet of I am not a woman I'm a God and I'm loving what I'm hearing. I will definitely be checking out her album when it drops. I love everything Trent Reznor does and I'd give anything for him to work with Lana at some point. If any of you longtime Halsey fans have any recommendations on which songs of hers I should check out, please let me know! I definitely favor the 90s industrial Electronica sound and I definitely like what I'm hearing so far from her upcoming release!  I imagine she will attract a lot of new listeners now that Trent is involved.

Honeymoon, Lust for Life and Norman are Lana's "summer trifecta" to me. Each album resonates with me more than her other records every (late May)/June, July and August, respectively.

Listening to Venice Bitch and The Greatest in the car the other day set it off for me

Arcadia is a beautiful title. But it also has an inherent  Resident Evil Afterlife vibe imo. Future-Futurism Post apocalyptica romanticism Lana vs evil dead come on record of The Greatests
