i’ve said this a million times and i’ll say it again…i do not understand how people dislike wfwf.

I strongly believe Lana has reached a point of career longevity and stability, where she knows who she is through her music and poetry and can afford to be “off the grid” and just put her projects out as she pleases. That’s actually the dream, if you think about it — to just do what you love and not get caught up in the fluff that seems inevitable when you’re a famous musician, and still generate lots of sales and warranted, genuine, and undivided interest in your work. She’s really a living legend. 

Lana has her coins and is set for life. She doesn't really need to have a career to keep money in her pockets, and I suppose this is a good reason to believe she could be trying a more niche genre that may not be as popular. I don't think it matters to her at this point in her life

more reasons i think she's moving besides the passports, arcadia lyrics, and edge of paradise photo: the UhaulJoe account she used to share the hope video may have been a hint since you use a uhaul to move. chuck saying their song makes her cry maybe because she is leaving.even though someone said they think she isn't leaving LA because her dad just moved there, but maybe he moved there to help out with the baby because big sis is leaving

After the final part of the Arcadia video everything is clear to me: she's moving to Mexico, becoming a drug dealer (we have the hints "Yayo", "Heroin", "Dealer", Mafiosiprincess), her new persona is a baddie with dark hair and sunglasses and she will make some sort of Latin/Trap music. *g*

Honestly this deactivation has been so entertaining just for the theories
Idk if the blind is true but I think she will either come back around the album release, or else not for a very long time. Like if an album release can't bring her out of hibernation then nothing will

everything she has released so far is very good stuff, I honestly expect an 85+.

I always think about Lana doing a show like the it iTunes festival, her voice with the band was always wow to me.
 
I imagine songs like Arcadia and Blue Banisters and like hearing them live with a quiet audience YAS with pro recording

I promise you that Lana isn't going to stop making music. It's in her DNA. She will always write and sing as long as she is able to. It's been apart of her since she was a child and I can't imagine her just stopping. She may take breaks here and then but there will always be more *something* from her. 

i'm taking a music marketing class this semester and we were talking about cult followings. someone brought up lana's QFTC post and so i banked off of that and mentioned how she deleted all of her social media a month before her new album comes out. my professor said that it's a really great marketing technique if a big artist has a project coming up. so, maybe, this is just strategic. maybe she'll come back a day before the album or the day of. although, knowing lana, this probably isn't promotion. it's just her. my professor gave me a small ounce of hope tho. i thought you'd all like to know that.

I feel like this "she will come back with her real name" is one of this fandoms favourite fantasies for whatever reason but I don't think it would make sense, nor that it will ever happen
a) If she wants more privacy, it would be inconsequential to use her real name
b) She's been so long with this persona/ nickname that it has more or less merged with her.
c) Everytime she released something it would be introduced with "Elizabeth Grant, formerly known as Lana Del Rey", so she would not "get rid" of the alias anyway
 

Interesting post. I still don't know how this person can say with such certainty that Lana is going to change her look though.
Also I know this is a touchy subject, but I do feel as if the weight gain could be from being off alcohol. The same thing happened to Gerard Way. When he was drinking, he was skinny, and when he wasn't drinking, he gained. Often times when you give up one addiction, you take on another addiction (food for example) to fill that void. That's just how it goes I guess. But I hope Lana gets help, and I don't think she's the type of person who is ashamed to ask for it.

Unlike LFL Blue Banisters seems to be pretty coherent so far.
Text Book, Arcadia and Wildflower work really well next to songs like Thunder, Living Legend and Dealer. And the unreleased songs themself also have a pretty distinctive sound. It's not hard to imagine NotG, CB, LL and Thunder on one album.
And "fans crying for old Lana" are usually the ones who insist on her putting out another BtD - which I can't really hear in any of those songs.
 
Plus I rather have 5 more unreleased older tracks on an album than another bleak and uninspired mess like CoCc that completely loses the little bit of energy it halfway through the already-short tracklist If that is what "new Lana" is supposed to stand for,  then I'm happy to not have it.

The person (sorry, I forget who) who said that she might come back as Elizabeth Grant might be onto something, especially considering that she put those passports up right before her announcement.
