I loved that live cover version and I just figured out how much I actually missed her voice and new music from her even if it is not an original song.

I really appreciate how even though people are hating on Courtney in this thread they’re still acknowledging her talent. She’s a terrible person but it’s so aggravating to see people say she killed Kurt or Kurt wrote live through this etc. We can criticize her without diminishing her achievements. I do think it’s funny she would end a 10+ year friendship over one cover though.

Holy shit you’re right. And especially with No Doubt, the Deftones, and Blur playing last weekend. If Courtney wasn’t so insane maybe she’d be queen of Coachella but then again she wouldn’t be the infamous Courtney Love if she wasn’t nuts. 

Courtney once replied to me on IG and said that she would never collab with Lana because they were friends and it'd be weird

Courtney is obviously just jealous that Lana has found such success doing something Courtney has been trying to do since the early 90s. 
 
Idk why she is choosing to publicly declare it in this way, it comes off as very immature and disrespectful. And telling someone they need to take 7 years off is a bold move for someone who has a blurry profile picture on Spotify😭 
 
Don’t get me wrong tho I LOVE Courtney and if the music is inspired by Lana I’m even more excited for the record… 
 
Btw Take Me Home outsold and out streamed LITERALLY every single solo song Courtney has ever done (Not that streams matter)

Real friends would support each other even if they made something they aren’t personally a fan of. Not liking a random cover is weird thing to end a friendship over. Idk a ton about Courtney though

I wonder what happened for her to switch up and be sorta mean? I think possibly 2 things:
 
1) Jack Donoghue being Courtneys Ex 
 
2) Journalist and Editor, Lynn Hirschberg, was seen at a dinner with Lana for W Magazine... Lynn was a MAJOR critic of Courtney Love and wrote very damaging things about Love in the 90s which caused Courtney to be removed as parental guardian upon the birth of Francis Bean Cobain...... 
 
 
not cool for lana to be hanging with her, but at the same time maybe Lana had no idea or Lynn was trying to cozy up to Lana at this very public event sponsor dinner for W Magazine.

Honestly, a lot of my friends are saying the same - that Lana should take some time off. The consensus seems to be that she's churning out a lot of songs, a lot of which aren't very good. Country Road is just one of many. Another one is that Blue Skies cover, which is equally awful.There's the collabs with some anonymous people, mid Antonoff project collabs, etc.
 
And let's not forget how unnecessary Blue Banisters was. Courtney Love never had a filter, and I don't think what she said is THAT BAD.

She was right about Taylor. She's mid and a capitalist pick me. Her music isn't all bad imo but I do agree with Courtney that Taylor is overhyped. Idk why people are picking that apart, aside from the comment of Lana, but then again it's classic swiftie fashion. 
 
Then everything else from Madonna to Lana sounds like mindless babble that I really take with a pinch of salt in all fairness. I don't follow Courtney so I don't know let alone care about her character type. I just don't think it's that serious and she's just being dumb or attention seeking.

Is based on her previous releases, in my mind she was such a forward thinking intellectual, a really talented artist who was unlike any other and was passionate about making sure she had her hands in every single part of her art from the production, lyrics, video, the artwork for her covers...
 
Fast forward to now and her releases are literally the epitome, the amalgamation of the most generic, lifeless, uninspired production, lazily using AI just for the gimmick of it, cant even be bothered to sing your own vocals because you think its "cool" an AI is doing it, generic trite lifeless slop artwork stolen from other artists through an AI in the most boring and pandering ways: "robot anime elf girl on crazy galaxy background" prompt type shit. Like its all just awful. 
 
And what makes it all truly for the worse is she seems to be completely oblivious of it all? She really seems to act like this is all cutting edge when it couldn't be any more on the nose and obvious. This is the type of stuff that I would tell an AI to make if somebody said to me: "Try to make the most hilariously stereotypical AI bro thing imaginable". 
 
And listen to her talk about it. There is no faux art-forward "irony" to it. She is obsessed with this slop. Just devouring it like a pig in a trough.

You know, since she is a duo now maybe she WILL actually release something because there will be someone else doing all the work for things to move forward.

Grimes had a tough weekend as a professional at Coachella . Her chance to press the reset button for her own career was a massive failure. A computer blue screen kind of failure. Such a shame as her music is sounding great and we will most likely never hear it in studio form. 
 
Grimes, if you’re reading this, NOW is the time to release music. If you go into hiding or put out some other AI crap it’s Game Over for you sweetheart. 
 

oh i know, which makes it even more embarrassing since she seems to be an illustrator and 3d artist herself, like she has the knowledge and the means but decided to be a lazy cheapskate instead 

the gag is that her AI art looks like shit. she made an AI based on her art (or midjourney?? i literally ignore any tweet she posts about AI so sorry) or whatever and it still looks like all the other AI art out there
