I can’t believe we finished her best era in terms of not talking about anything about the album, songs, dates, etc. - Ocean Blvd - except for maybe a little teaser on her W magazine, which was perfect, to her worst when it comes to teasing and talking about the title and announcing two false dates wayyyyy in advance… 

But I will share other info I think is cool!
Not sure if its been said before but Wild At Heart was the original album title for chemtrails (and therefore title track)

I think she should just leave visuals to experts at this point… her music videos are getting worse and worse… amazing how well crafter the CB MV were in opposed to the Portals ones (with more budget) 
 
When it comes to the music, I will say the unreleased stuff was much more interesting to me than the released. The rock vibe just isn’t for her in my opinion… it was cute on Function and Evil but I think she excels more with ambient / trap production! Some of the best songs in this era being Tunnel Vision, Garden, Dragons Blood, Void (demo), Contortionist and Needle & Thread 
 
on the other hand, I don’t agree the CB persona is what went wrong with her… if done right, the concept could have been much more interesting and could go on for a couple more albums. The problem is her writting, her concepts get more and more uninspired and the lyrics are straight up cringe. An example of that is After School, she didn’t follow a character there yet it stays her worst effort to date for me

Y'all after watching the MV a few times I've thought about how if you read the lyrics, it's obviously about someone only wanting to sleep with Melanie (idk if I can say the word on here). But the concept of the music video leads me to believe that the song could also be about someone or a group of people (her label or her fans or both) or people in general who only want Melanie to act a certain way or they want her to look a certain way. It was a video game where Melanie isn't in control. Someone else is. If y'all have anything to add please do bc I'm going to need more time to think about this. I just LOVE the concept.

It's not her standing up to the BS rumors that bothers me, but the fact that she's pretty much only been showing up and speaking as herself lately when she's checking fans on social media, or on the radio in full costume with some awful voice filter.
 
It doesn't feel like we're really getting Melanie Martinez anymore, or even getting her full "vision" for Portals because she's insisting on waiting until her film gets greenlit(which may never happen) to give us the full context for the album. What's the point? This whole era and new persona of hers is just so far removed from all of the things that made her past work so special, IMO.

Y’all Americans are SO annoying “she’s not coming to my state” WHO CARES Lana hasn’t been to Australia in 6 years I would travel across the country and even to New Zealand to see her SHUT UP.  the ending where they take her away… it reminded me of Fingertips where she says “what kind of mother was she to say I'd end up in institutions?” I think she’s representing her past (the AA meetings when she sings the Bowery bums part) but also the dramatic future her mother had imagined for her when she was a teen… cause she probably told her she was “crazy” 

so far for 8/3 we have:
- upside down phone for anti-hero and vigilante shit (track 3 and 8) 
- Speak Now social media layout was taken down 83 days after the announcement 
- “Exile” was released as a single 8/3/2020; and in the bejeweled MV it says “exile ends” 
- Selena Gomez giving out tickets to the 8/3 Eras Show

If Living Legend, Nectar of the Gods and Cherry Blossom had never leaked, she couldn't have put them on the album as she downloaded them from YouTube.

i love that she incorporates her old lizzy videos into her shows…sometimes it felt like she didn’t acknowledge/was embarrassed of her some of her older shit so seeing her put it on the big screen is cute

ok so the photos r actually outrageously blurry (like rlly bad) you’d think i was taking them on a nintendo ds and i look like i’ve been dragged through hell.
she was the sweetest, she came up to my friend and i and said “you two dollies” and held our hands (never recovering). i have three videos of our interaction which i’ll share once i have more brain power :))

The crazy thing is she upset more people for changing the lyric than she would’ve if she kept it. Anyways, I hope the rest of the rerecordings are good and aren’t just inferior versions like on Red TV. Mainly excited for the vault tracks.

what’s the point of changing the lyrics to a rerecorded song…like don’t you want people to stream the rerecorded versions only instead of the old one? it just doesn’t make sense especially since NO ONE cares about that btr lyric, every fucking month i see the same “hehe i’ll give up feminism for this song” joke like people love the song. no one is complaining.  
edit: it’s inevitable that some annoying sjw might complain but that is the extreme minority and will not affect her sales/reputation in any way.
