Omg I feel the exact opposite way. Love song and hope have great melodies which keeps the “conversational” lyrics from being too jarring. But I remember the first time I heard Blue Banisters I was shocked because I couldn’t believe she would put out a song with such clunky lines/ little melody.

no no no dream BIGGER: since she doesn’t have any Rick song’s left she can/wants to use they recorded new ones that’ll end up on the album making Rick one of LDR9’s main producers

but think about the bright side, the way her ig only has like 1M followers and her peach fuzz photos has more than 900K likes - it's fucking insane.

One of my favorite things about this album is that it feels like the end of the day of one of the last days of summer. The album begins at evening time just before sunset. There’s a dark storm on the horizon, but the sun is still shining and everything is still golden. Then, the album progresses through sunset, through dusk, through the storm, and into nighttime by the end.

It’s that bittersweet feeling of the end of the era and the celebration around that, but also the melancholy of knowing it’s over. NFR was released around this time of year in the northern hemisphere. It was also released at the end of the best summer of my adult life so far and not too long before the pandemic where everything in my life changed significantly and permanently.

It’s one of my top two favorite albums of all time. I’m so grateful that I have it and all of the memories and feelings that are attached to it. It was horrible waiting a year for the album to be released since MAC dropped, but now, I’m so appreciative that it was released when it was.

I had a dream last night that Lana posted the LDR9 announcement on her Instagram. I don't remember what the record was called, but it had a long title. It was set to come in a few months before the end of the year, don't remember exactly when. The album artwork was in the style of her Born to Die & Paradise covers with the text and posing and it was in colour. In the post's caption, she said it was a behind-the-scenes photograph taken while on set for a music video for a song from the album. She posted the backside with the tracklist, and the artwork for the back was black & white. The album was 13 tracks and had a few unreleased songs on it, the ones I remember were Hollywood which was the opening track and St Tropez & Kill Kill. The final track of the album was called 'The 13th Beach' and Lana said in the caption that it was her favourite song from the record and a continuation of 13 Beaches from Lust for Life. She said the meaning of the song was about going through the motions of life, overcoming adversity, giving up old vices, to eventually find a happy and comfortable place in life where she's now at. She also said she was excited to finally release Hollywood with the proper production.
That's about all I remember, but I also remember creating the official LDR9 Pre-Release Thread and everyone was freaking out over The 13th Beach's description.
I'll also say, nearly every time I remember a dream vividly, at least part of it comes true, even if it's a minor detail. Every time I've dreamt about a Lana album release ahead of time, something has indeed come true from it.. so we'll see

please don't drag me :;( I love some of her old stuff and its super duper nostalgic for me. But I see literally no artistic growth? Same sound and its honestly really boring to me now. I remember when she was becoming an alternative IT girl but she hasn't evolved at all so she just lost all momentum. Sad because I love her.

No one is really mentioning some of the songs that are really important when it comes to talking about the original idea of Ultraviolence: Fine China, Yes to Heaven, Your Girl (and some other tracks we know like I Talk To Jesus or the rumoured Trans Am or Living Legend).

I think there are several scrapped versions of Ultraviolence. First we have the pre-leaked idea of Ultraviolence, then the post-leaked idea of Ultraviolence and then the final Ultraviolence that we all know. I think the pre-leaked idea of Ultraviolence had a Paradise vibe with songs like Angels Forever or the Black Beauty demo. Then, the post-leaked idea of Ultraviolence probably had the Ultraviolence songs that weren't produced by Auerbach and demos of the songs Auerbach later produced and were released. She's said several times she thought she had done with the album back in 2013 and it was pretty much produced by Rick Nowels (she announced the album title at the Tropico premiere the first week of December) but then she met Auerbach and decided to go to Nasville to re-work the album with him (and if I'm not wrong I think she said she met Dan in mid December).

    So, I think we had

UV1: Angels Forever, Black Beauty, Living Legend, Trans Am (and maybe some of the leaked tracks but not really from the Untouchable 5)
UV2: Fine China, Yes To Heaven, Your Girl, I Talk To Jesus, West Coast (demo that was meant to be scrapped), Guns And Roses, Is This Happiness, Old Money, maybe the Blake tracks (PWYC, Flipside and a Cruel World demo?) and demos of the songs that were released but produced by Rick (SOC demo, Sad Girl demo...)
Final UV: The album we know
