just looked through the kanye leak tracker & that shit is more insane than us, why is there 46 versions of one song? this shit is worse than 29 copies of touch or the 22nd version of bounce or whatever we're upto now

It took me a bit, but i'm really vibing with "The Void". and i think the production sounds really cool actually... Almost a little Stained Glass by Madison/Tame Impala influence?
If anyone was curious, Melanie produced the first demo of Emerald herself... which is why it sounds a bit rougher than the others. it's just a country pop loop ala Kacey musgraves and raw vocals, that K&OL reproduced. I think she produced a couple other rough demos that never made it to the internet... Moon Cycle maybe? Don't shoot me if im wrong. Anyways, what im trying to say is Melanie has already shown a lot of growth as a producer if you compare the demo of Emerald to "The Void" snippet, and we should be supportive of ha
I always felt like Needle & Thread sounded like something Melanie would choose for a closing track. It has a sort of "resolution" vibe. Maybe there's still hope?

One of my few LDR mags, I like the makeup in this shot though! I think it just looked too harsh colorized via the flash/medium. I saw this on IG and was like, hmmm, looks like the Mojo makeup?!?

Pop 2 has some great work like track 10 but mostly hurts my ears with the extensive tune.
Charli’s songwriting peak melodically and lyrically was prior to the Vroom Vroom ep(some of the tracks on N1 were concepts prior).
Vroom Vroom is a great track but should have stayed a fan gem and not her most known “ fan” song-it just doesn’t work because it’s a kitschy hit but not her best.

& regarding comments over the album, I think this is definitely her most cohesive album yet. It’s definitely not as instant to the average listener compared to Isolation because it’s a very dense project with midtempo material only. However to me, this is exactly the type of music I live for so I have no problems eating it up lol
For the rest of you, i’m certain it will unravel over time or after a couple more listens. It’s a very excellent body of work and she should be proud. Also it’s refreshing to finally get an R&B album that isn’t all about toxic love or heartbreak etc. (no shade)
I’m sure the spanish album will have more uptempo moments than this project too, so I am not worried in the slightest. She knows what she’s doing!

> Terrance Loves You
> Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems
Just a few songs that come to my mind, I think they deserve a bit more appreciation from casual fans (maybe even some "stans" don't listen to these).

Do I love everything about Blue Banisters? Yes and no. Sure, some tracks could've benefitted from a deeper production, others from a more punchy production, maybe some different vocal takes... Perfection's not the point of it. If music was made strictly from a scientific standpoint, or to adhere to a formula, it'd just be boring to listen to because there'd be nothing human about it.
The reason why Blue Banisters is my favorite studio album from Lana is because there's a different kind of honesty than I've heard on any of the other albums. It's a really beautiful, earnest, no-frills navigation through the human experience, the cost of fame, mental health, and the impact of generational/family trauma. It's an elegant "fuck you" to all the backlash over the years, and also reflective of the introspection and inner-work she's been doing since the Chemtrails era.
"Living Legend" and "Cherry Blossom" have a strange duality going on where they feel out of place, but they also fit right in when you look at the album from the wider lens. Especially considering the context of why she wrote "Living Legend", it's hard to deny its right to the tracklist.
It'd be weird to expect everyone to love every album, or be on the same page with what albums are "a masterpiece" or "the best," because it's all subjective and relative to what's happening to you when the art finds you.
If it's wrong, I don't wanna be right. This is my #1 Lana album, and I'm looking forward to seeing if it stays that way after Did you know... releases.
