patiently awaiting miss Lana's next IG post this week which will inevitably be something juicy either about the billboard shoot/mag, the women in music award or the next upcoming single or it could end up being a random story post of a pretty wallpaper she likes or her wishing a friend a happy wedding anniversary

I assume the overall sound will not be in the tranquil COCC-BB mode of the COCC title track, 'WD,' 'Not All Who Wander,' 'Arcadia,' 'VFR,' 'Sweet Carolina,' etc. I enjoyed all of those songs, but would really like to hear something completely new and dynamic, something with more of a pulse, and some beats.

The comments from the major insiders have led me/us to believe that we're in for something completely unanticipated and unprecedented. Hurrah. I welcome that. I hope that the title track is the only song in that mode.

I love a lot of albums when artists have broken with their former, signature sound, like Joni Mitchell's 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns,' Marianne Faithfull's 'Broken English,' Nico's 'Drama of Exile,' and Kate Bush's 'The Dreaming' and 'Hounds of Love.' Rayland Baxter did it last year with his 'If I Were a Butterfly' trip hop album.

So if Lana is serving something completely new, wonderful.

me thinking her team havent released the boxset yet because they know it wont be ready in time so they want people to order the regular variants in the meantime so they count toward first week sales instead of enticing people to order the boxset and detract away from the first week chart numbers... my genius it amazes me sometimes

I wonder if the picture she posted doing her hair is from the Billboard shot or some MV.

It has the same energy as the A&W post
She also follows all those girls so they seem from her closer team rather than whoever was in charge of styling for the cover (even though sometimes her team is the one styling her for non albums shoots too).
Either way I'm happy cause we're finally getting stuff and Lana seems excited

The full quote is actually "For the first song, I pressed record and sang, “When I look back, tracing fingertips over plastic bags, I think I wish I could extrapolate some small intention or maybe get your attention for a minute or two.”", so I assume she was talking about Fingertips and meant 'first song' as in 'first song I recorded' rather than the tracklist. Other than that I fully agree with you! She's always been into beat poetry and she seems to have finally found a way to merge it with her music.

Let’s remember what people said about this album to stay on topic:

    Jack Antonoff
-“And then we had this one weird live take where she [Lana] was singing along to a voice memo on her phone … and I was playing piano … and we just both went, ‘Yep, there it is—our one magic moment.’
-"American Whore is my favorite we have ever done"

    Lana Del Rey
-I’ve been practicing meditative automatic singing, where I don’t filter anything. I’ll just sing whatever comes to mind into my Voice Notes app. It’s not perfect, obviously. There are pauses, and I stumble. But I’ve been sending those really raw-sounding files to a composer, Drew Erickson, and he’ll add an orchestra beneath the words, matching each syllable with music and adding reverb to my voice. When I’m automatic singing, I don’t have the time and leisure to think about things in terms of colors. It’s very cerebral. In Honeymoon, there were so many color references. For this new music, there’s none of that at all. It’s more just like: I’m angry. The songs are very conversational. For the first song, I pressed record and sang. It’s a very wordy album. So there’s no room for color. It’s almost like I’m typing in my mind.
    -Thank you Instagram post

    RIOPY:
-RIOPY told Classic FM, “[Lana] reached out to me and told me she loved my music, she had fallen in love with the track, and she had written lyrics on top of it. The song Lana wrote is called Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he’s deep-sea fishing and is track number 11 on her new album coming in March later this year. “When I first went to listen to her piece,” RIOPY continued, “I was scared, because you know – that’s my music, and I'm not in the pop world, so I didn’t know what to expect. “But the first time I heard it I could see... the sea. I saw the liquid blue. I think she did a great job – it’s very elegant, and it’s very classy.”
